How a Bonus Program Boosted Revenue at True Gamers UAE

Section titled “How a Bonus Program Boosted Revenue at True Gamers UAE”

In “March 2025”, True Gamers UAE launched a progressive top-up bonus ladder simultaneously across all 14 clubs. In the first 60 days, the average check across the active base grew 18%, and the share of clients topping up 200+ AED per visit rose from 12% to 29%. This case covers what was done — from diagnosis to IZI setup to measuring results.

The full methodology for building the bonus ladder is in the playbook. This page is about the specific implementation and numbers.

Clubs accepted cash and card payments, client balance was topped up as needed. The typical model: client arrives, pays for a session at the desk, leaves. No incentives to put money in advance existed.

Average check per visit across the network was about 95 AED. 70% of clients paid exactly for one session. Visit frequency analysis showed that regulars (D30 retention ≥ 30%) had a higher check — about 130 AED — simply because they sometimes bought extra time or bar items. But there was no tool to shift newcomers and mid-tier clients toward larger top-ups.

The goal: without changing tariffs or spending on marketing, find a growth mechanic within the existing base.

Before building the ladder, three numbers are needed. How to get them in IZI:

MetricNetwork valueHow to measure
Average check (AOV)~95 AEDHow to find average check in IZI
Visit frequency (regulars)2.8 visits/weekHow to count visit frequency
Session margin~65%Session unit economics

With these numbers, the ladder was built using the parametric formula:

  • Tier 1: from 120 AED (~AOV × 1.3) → +5% bonus
  • Tier 2 (anchor): from 250 AED (~AOV × 2.6) → +12% bonus
  • Tier 3 (whale): from 500 AED (~AOV × 5.3) → +20% bonus

Bonus expires after 60 days and can only be spent on tariffs and the bar.

The entire ladder is three rules in IZI Automations. No code — just configuration in the interface.

Step 1. Open CRM → Automations → Create rule.

Step 2. For each tier:

  • Trigger event: “Balance top-up”
  • Condition: top-up amount ≥ tier threshold
  • Action: add X% of amount to bonus balance
  • Bonus expiry: 60 days

Step 3. Enable all three rules. The system automatically picks the right one on each top-up — the client sees the bonus immediately in the IZI mobile app.

Administrators received desk scripts: “If you top up from 250 AED, you get 12% as bonus — that’s 30 AED toward your next visit.” More on scripts for different client types in the playbook.

Most new large top-ups went to tier 2 (the anchor tier) — exactly as intended. The gap between tier 1 and tier 2 worked as designed. Tier 3 produced a small but consistent whale segment.

Payback period — about 18 days: real cash cost of bonuses in the first month was covered by incremental margin from the higher average check by the end of week three.

The Top-Up Bonus dashboard in Analytics shows:

  • “Rule breakdown” — number of triggers per tier
  • “Behavior change” — average check comparison before vs after launch
  • “Daily chart” — daily dynamics of top-up volume and bonuses issued

If you see 80%+ at tier 1 — the gap between tiers is weak, increase the tier 2 bonus or lower the tier 1 threshold. If the whale segment (tier 3) isn’t growing — test raising the tier 3 bonus to 22–25% or adding a privilege (booking priority).

Scenario is based on the aggregated experience of the True Gamers UAE network. Staff and client names have been changed.

Frequently asked questions

How much did revenue grow after launching the bonus program?

In the True Gamers UAE case, the average check across the active base grew 18% in the first 60 days after launching a three-tier top-up bonus ladder.

How long does it take to set up a bonus program in IZI?

Setting up three rules in IZI Automations takes about 2 hours. Training administrators on the sales scripts takes another day.

What is the real cost of a bonus for the club?

With 65% margin on sessions, the real cash cost of a bonus payout is about 30% of its face value. A 20 AED bonus costs the club roughly 6–7 AED.

How do I know if the bonus program is working?

Open the Top-Up Bonus dashboard → Behavior Change. If the average check after launch has grown ≥10% — the program is working. If 80%+ of operations are at tier 1 — raise the minimum threshold.

What if most clients only take the lowest tier?

That means the gap between tier 1 and tier 2 isn't motivating enough. Either increase the bonus percentage on tier 2 or lower the tier 1 threshold closer to current average top-ups.
