How to Set Up a Loyalty Tier Program in IZI
Section titled “How to Set Up a Loyalty Tier Program in IZI”Loyalty tiers in IZI are not a separate button — they are a constructor made of three real tools: player groups, automations, and group discounts. Combine them and customers automatically move up tiers by accumulated hours or spend, where a larger discount and enhanced top-up bonus await. You define your own thresholds, tier names, and privileges instead of fitting your club into someone else’s scheme.
How it fits together:
- Tiers are player groups (“Bronze”, “Silver”, “Gold” or your own names).
- Tier transitions are automations: when a threshold is reached, the customer is added to the next tier’s group.
- A tier’s privilege is a group discount and an enhanced top-up bonus for that group.
What Works and What Doesn’t Yet
Section titled “What Works and What Doesn’t Yet”Works automatically after setup:
- Tier promotion by accumulated hours, sessions, or total spend
- Removing a lower tier when a higher one is assigned
- Tier discount on tariffs and bar — applied at the register automatically
- Enhanced top-up bonus for the tier group
- Push notification to the customer on tier upgrade
Requires one-time manual action:
- Creating tier groups
- Assigning tiers to customers who already exceeded the threshold before the rules were created
Currently unavailable:
- Customers cannot see their tier in the mobile app — they see balances only. Communicate upgrades via push notification from the automation or at reception.
- No automatic tier demotion for inactivity — there is no time-based scheduler in automations.
- Accumulated stats are per club, not per network — hours at one club do not count toward thresholds at another.
Before Setup — Define Your Structure
Section titled “Before Setup — Define Your Structure”Answer two questions:
-
How many tiers and by what metric. Three to four tiers is the practical range. Promotion metric: accumulated “Play time (sec)”, “Session count”, or “Total spent”.
-
Thresholds from your own data, not someone else’s numbers. Pull your club’s averages from Analytics and build thresholds from there.
Parametric approach: if the average active customer plays H hours per month, set tier 2 at H × 3–5 and tier 3 at H × 10–15. That is meaningful but reachable.
Illustrative example: at H = 10 hrs/month, thresholds of 40 and 120 hours work well; at H = 4 hrs/month, try 15 and 50 hours. Plug in your own H.
Step 1 — Create Tier Groups
Section titled “Step 1 — Create Tier Groups”Club → Settings → Player Groups → Add group.
Create one group per tier: “Silver”, “Gold”, “VIP” (or your own names). The base tier — all customers by default — does not need its own group.
A customer can be in multiple groups simultaneously. This is useful if you also use groups for other segments (e.g., “Students”).
Step 2 — Set Up Automatic Tier Promotion
Section titled “Step 2 — Set Up Automatic Tier Promotion”Organisation → Marketing → Automation → create a new rule.
Example: promotion to “Gold” at 50 hours of play.
- Trigger: “Session ended”
- Condition: “Play time (sec)” ≥
180000(50 hours × 3 600 — the stat is stored in seconds) - Action 1: “Assign group” → “Gold”
- Action 2: “Send push” — heading and message about the tier upgrade (heading up to 40 characters, body up to 120)
The rule checks the customer’s cumulative stats on every session completion. As soon as the total crosses the threshold, the customer is added to the tier group. Re-firing is harmless — if they are already in the group, nothing changes and no duplicate is created.
Create one rule per tier with its own threshold.
Step 3 — Remove the Lower Tier on Promotion
Section titled “Step 3 — Remove the Lower Tier on Promotion”To prevent a customer from being in “Silver” and “Gold” at the same time, add a cleanup rule:
- Trigger: “Group assigned”
- Condition: “Assigned group” = “Gold”
- Action: “Unassign group” → “Silver”, “Bronze”
With this rule, old tiers are removed automatically on promotion.
Step 4 — Add Tier Privileges
Section titled “Step 4 — Add Tier Privileges”A tier’s privilege is two independent mechanisms. Configure both or either one.
Discount on tariffs and bar
Section titled “Discount on tariffs and bar”Club → Settings → Discounts → Add discount.
- Select the tariffs or categories the discount applies to.
- In the “Groups” field, specify the tier group (e.g., “Gold”). If left empty the discount applies to everyone — for a tier program this field must be filled.
- Set the “Percent”.
The discount applies at the register automatically as long as the customer is in the group. Higher tier — higher percentage, via a separate rule per group. Bar discounts are configured the same way in the Discounts section for products.
Enhanced top-up bonus
Section titled “Enhanced top-up bonus”Organisation → Marketing → Automation → new rule:
- Trigger: “Balance topped up”
- Condition: “User groups” includes “Gold”
- Action: “Add bonus” with formula
{{topupAmountMajor}} * 0.12(12% of the top-up amount)
Create one rule per tier with a different percentage in the formula. More on formulas: How to Set Up Top-Up Bonus Percentage.
Step 5 — What the Customer Sees
Section titled “Step 5 — What the Customer Sees”The customer sees gaming and bonus balances in the mobile app. There is no “your tier” screen or progress bar toward the next tier. Communicate upgrades yourself:
- Push from the automation (Step 2) — fires at the moment of promotion.
- At reception — the operator sees the customer’s groups in CRM.
The discount and enhanced bonus work automatically regardless. Customers feel them in the price and in the bonus accrual, even without knowing the word “tier”.
Handling Existing Customers at Launch
Section titled “Handling Existing Customers at Launch”Rules only fire on new events. Customers who already exceeded a threshold before the rules were created will not be auto-promoted. Options:
- Assign manually — export active customers from Analytics and assign their tier in “Player Groups” once at launch.
- Start fresh — leave history as is; tiers accumulate from new activity only.
Recommended: identify your most active customers and assign their tier manually at launch — they will immediately feel the value of the program.

Does IZI have a ready-made loyalty section with tiers?
There is no dedicated loyalty program button. Tiers are assembled from three real tools: player groups, automations, and group discounts. You define your own thresholds, tier names, and privileges instead of adapting a pre-made scheme.
How do I make a customer automatically move to a higher tier based on hours played?
Create an automation rule: trigger 'Session ended', condition 'Play time (sec)' greater than or equal to your threshold, action 'Assign group' for the target tier. IZI tracks cumulative per-club stats — the rule fires automatically when the threshold is crossed.
What privileges can I give a customer at a higher tier?
A percentage discount on tariffs and bar items (via a group discount rule in Club → Settings → Discounts) and an enhanced top-up bonus (via an automation rule with condition 'User groups includes Gold' and action 'Add bonus' with a formula). You define the percentages.
Can the customer see their tier in the mobile app?
No. The app shows gaming and bonus balances only — not the tier label or progress toward the next tier. Communicate upgrades via push notification from the automation rule or at reception. Discounts and bonuses still apply automatically regardless.
Can the system automatically demote a tier for inactivity?
No. Automations are event-driven — session, top-up, purchase, group assignment. There is no time-based scheduler. Tier demotion for inactivity can only be done manually.
Do accumulated hours count across the whole club network?
No. Stats are tracked per club. A 'Gold at 50 hours' rule must be configured in each club, and hours at one club do not count toward thresholds at another.
What about customers who already passed the threshold before the rules were set up?
Automation rules only fire on new events after creation. Customers who already exceeded the threshold must be manually assigned to the correct tier group once at launch — export active customers from Analytics and assign.
Can I remove the lower tier automatically when a customer moves up?
Yes. Add a rule: trigger 'Group assigned', condition 'Assigned group = Gold', action 'Unassign group' → Silver and Bronze. This ensures the customer is in only one tier at a time.
