Connecting Your First PC to IZI

Published: · Updated: (13 days ago)· IZI Team

For IZI to manage a computer — track sessions, run timers, and apply tariffs — you need to install the IZI agent on each PC and register it in the CRM. The whole process takes about five minutes per machine: download the installer directly from the CRM, run it on the PC, and enter a one-time pairing code. Once done, the device appears in the hall layout as a managed unit and is ready to accept players. The pairing code is valid for 4 hours and is reusable — you can connect every PC in the club with a single code, one after another, without regenerating it.

  • The club is created in IZI and at least one zone is configured — the zone is selected during agent installation.
  • The staff member performing the setup has the Equipment permission in their club role.
  • PCs running Windows (the IZI agent runs on Windows; for PlayStation, Xbox, and VR devices use the Custom device type — no software installation required).

Step 1 — Download the IZI installer from the CRM

Section titled “Step 1 — Download the IZI installer from the CRM”
  1. Open the CRM and navigate to your club.
  2. In the sidebar, select Equipment.
  3. Click Add Device.
  4. A modal window opens. Select the device type PC.
  5. On “Step 1 — Download the IZI installer,” click the Download IZI Installer button — the file IZIInstaller.exe will be saved to your computer.

Transfer the file to the target PC via USB drive, shared network folder, or any other convenient method.

Run IZIInstaller.exe with administrator privileges. The installer deploys the IZI agent and all required components. During installation, the agent will prompt you for a pairing code — keep the installer open until you have entered it.

Step 3 — Generate a pairing code and authorize the device

Section titled “Step 3 — Generate a pairing code and authorize the device”

The pairing code is created in the CRM and entered into the agent on the PC:

  1. In the same CRM modal, go to “Step 3 — Authorize device.”
  2. Click Generate Code. The system displays a code in 000-000 format.
  3. The code is valid for 4 hours and is reusable — you can register multiple PCs with the same code.
  4. Enter this code into the installer window on the PC.
  5. The agent will ask you to select a zone (from your club’s zone list) and set a device name — digits only, up to 4 characters (for example: 1, 12, 101).
  6. After confirmation, the device appears in the club’s Equipment list in the CRM with status Active.

If the code expires before you finish connecting all machines, click Generate Again — a new code is issued immediately.

After successful registration, IZI creates a device record with a unique identifier (UUID), assigns it to the selected zone, and issues an access token to the agent. From this point the CRM can see the device on the hall map, open and close sessions, and display its real-time status.

The device card (Equipment → device list) exposes additional settings:

SettingWhat it does
ZoneThe hall zone this PC belongs to. Can be changed at any time.
Auto-update clientThe IZI agent updates itself automatically in the background. Recommended to keep enabled.
Wake-on-LANRemotely power on the PC from the CRM over the network (requires hardware and network support).
VersionThe current version of the IZI agent installed on this PC.

One pairing code works for one club and as many PCs as needed. The workflow:

  1. Generate a single code in the CRM.
  2. On each PC, run IZIInstaller.exe, enter the same code, select the zone, and assign a unique name.
  3. If 4 hours pass before you finish — click Generate Again and continue.

Device names must be unique across the entire club (including deleted devices), so sequential numbering works well: 1, 2, 3, and so on.

Devices without the IZI agent (Custom type)

Section titled “Devices without the IZI agent (Custom type)”

For gaming consoles, VR headsets, and other equipment that cannot run the IZI agent, choose the Custom device type in the Add Device dialog. These devices are registered manually without a pairing code — you simply specify the zone and name. IZI will include them in scheduling and allow staff to open sessions manually, but there is no automated session timer control.

The device does not appear in the CRM after entering the code. Check that the PC has internet access and confirm the code has not expired (4 hours from generation). Regenerate the code and try again.

The agent prompts for a zone that is not in the list. Create the required zone in the CRM at Equipment → Zones before connecting the PC — see setting up zones.

Error “A device with this name already exists.” Device names are unique per club. Choose a different numeric name.

You need to move a PC to a different zone after registration. Open the device card in the CRM, click Edit, and change the zone — the agent picks up the change automatically.

Once all PCs are connected, the next step is to create tariffs and open your first shift.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the pairing code valid?

The code is valid for 4 hours from the moment it is generated. It is reusable — multiple PCs can authenticate with the same code within that window, so you do not need to regenerate it between machines.

Can I connect a PlayStation or Xbox the same way?

No. For devices that cannot run the IZI agent (PlayStation, Xbox, VR headsets, and similar), choose the Custom device type when adding — they are registered manually without installing any software.

What do I do if the pairing code expires before I finish?

In the CRM modal, click Generate Again — the system issues a new code instantly. The previous code is invalidated.

Is assigning a device to a zone required?

Yes. You select the zone during the agent installation. If you have not created zones yet, set them up first in Equipment → Zones.

What does Auto-update client do?

The IZI agent on the PC updates itself automatically in the background. We recommend keeping this enabled so devices always receive the latest fixes and features without manual intervention.

How should I name devices?

Device names are digits only, up to 4 characters (for example: 1, 42, 1001). The name must be unique across all devices in the club, including deleted ones.

Can the same UUID appear in two different clubs?

Yes. A device UUID is scoped to a club, so the same UUID can exist independently in separate clubs.

What is Wake-on-LAN in device settings?

Wake-on-LAN lets you remotely power on a PC from the CRM over the local network. It requires motherboard support and correct network configuration at the club.
