How to Create a Client Group in IZI CRM

Published: · Updated: (12 days ago)· IZI Team

A player group — also called a client segment — is a named list of clients you want to treat differently: a private tariff, a higher top-up bonus, access to a special promotion. In IZI CRM, groups are defined once at the organization level and are available across all clubs in your network, while membership is managed per club independently. To create a group: open your club in CRM, go to Player Groups in the sidebar, click Add, fill in a name and optional description, then click Save. The group appears in the list immediately and can be linked to tariffs and automations right away. After that, add players through their profile cards or in bulk from the Clients section.

  1. Open CRM and select the club you want to work in.
  2. In the sidebar, click Player Groups.
  3. Click Add in the top-right corner of the page.
  4. Fill in the form:
    • Group name — required. Choose a name your team will recognize immediately: “VIP”, “Students”, “Corporate”, “Team Alpha”. Names must be unique within the organization — trying to save a second “VIP” will produce an error.
    • Description — optional. Use this field to document the inclusion criteria, for example: “Clients whose total top-ups exceeded 5 000 in the last 3 months.”
  5. Click Save.

The group appears in the table immediately. The table shows the name, description, number of members in the current club, and the date of the last change.

Membership is assigned at the club level, inside each individual player’s profile card.

Via a player’s card (one client at a time):

  1. Go to Clients in the sidebar.
  2. Find the player by name or phone number.
  3. Open their profile.
  4. In the Groups block, select the group from the dropdown list.
  5. Changes save automatically.

Important: group membership is recorded per club. The same client can belong to the “VIP” group at your downtown location but not at your mall location — this is intentional and by design.

A single client can belong to multiple groups simultaneously — for example “Students” and “Regular” at the same time. Both groups are evaluated when IZI applies discounts and automation rules.

Section titled “Step 3 — Link the group to a tariff or automation”

A group on its own is just an organizational tool. To give it real impact, link it to a tariff, discount, or automation rule.

In the settings of the relevant tariff or discount, set the application condition to “Group only” and select your segment. From that point on, when a session starts IZI checks whether the player belongs to the group and applies the configured conditions automatically.

Common combinations:

GroupConditionWhat the client receives
StudentsDaytime hours, weekdaysDiscount on the daytime tariff
VIPAny timeAccess to a private tariff not listed publicly
CorporateBy contractFixed tariff, post-payment billing
TeamsNight shiftsMulti-seat team tariff

In the Automations section, specify the group as a trigger condition or audience filter. Examples:

  • On balance top-up → if the player is in the “VIP” group → award a top-up bonus at 1.5× the standard rate.
  • After the 20th completed session → automatically add the player to the “Regular” group.
  • After 30 days of no visits → if the player is in the “VIP” group → send a re-engagement notification and credit a return bonus.

Editing: click the group’s row in the table to open its card. You can change the Group name and Description. Click Save when done. Renaming a group is reflected instantly everywhere it is linked — tariffs and automations pick up the new name without any additional steps.

Deleting: click the trash icon on the group’s row and confirm. Deletion is irreversible. Players are not removed, but any discount or automation rule tied to the deleted group will stop working. You will need to reassign those rules to a different group manually.

If you have many groups, use the search bar at the top of the Player Groups section. Search works on the group name. The Export button downloads the full group list with member counts as a table file.

After creating your group and adding the first members, verify that the mechanics work as expected:

  1. Open any player card from the group.
  2. Start a test session or review the available tariffs — the segmented tariff should appear in the list.
  3. If the tariff does not appear, confirm that the player was added to the group in the current club specifically, not in a different club in the network.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create a player group in IZI?

Open the club in CRM, go to Player Groups in the sidebar, click Add, enter a name (and optional description), then click Save. The group is immediately available for assigning players and linking to tariffs.

What is a player group in IZI?

A player group is a named client segment defined at the organization level. You create the group once — for example 'VIP' or 'Students' — then add players to it per club. The group acts as a condition for applying tariffs, discounts, and automation rules.

Does the group name have to be unique?

Yes. Within one organization you cannot have two groups with the same name. If you try to save a duplicate, the system will show an error. Names are case-sensitive and whitespace-sensitive.

How do I add players to a group?

Open the player's profile card via Clients in the sidebar, find the Groups block, and select the group from the dropdown. Membership is set at the club level — the same client can belong to a group in one club but not in another.

Can I delete a group?

Yes. Click the trash icon on the group's row and confirm. Deletion is irreversible. Players are not deleted, but any tariffs or automation rules linked to the deleted group will stop applying and must be reassigned manually.

What permissions are required to manage groups?

Creating, editing, and deleting groups requires OrgPermissions.PlayerGroupCreate / PlayerGroupEdit / PlayerGroupDelete at the organization level. Adding a player to a group requires ClubPermissions.PlayerGroupAssign at the club level.
