Push Notification Campaigns in IZI

Published: · Updated: (13 days ago)· IZI Team

The Campaigns section in IZI CRM is your direct communication channel to players via the IZI mobile app. Select an audience, compose a message with an optional image and call-to-action button, choose when to send, and track reach and open rate — all from one place, with no third-party email providers or SMS gateways required. Before you launch, the system calculates exactly how many players will receive the notification based on who has the app installed and notifications enabled, so you can evaluate campaign scale upfront rather than after the fact.

Find Campaigns under Organization menu → Marketing → Campaigns. The main table shows all campaigns with columns for Campaign Name, User Groups, Send Status, Reach, and Open Rate. Statuses update in real time through a live subscription — no page refresh needed.

Click Create Campaign (the Play icon in the top-right corner). The “Push Notifications — Create” form opens with four sections.

Two settings control who receives the campaign.

Club Filter. If your organization runs multiple clubs, select one or more to narrow delivery. The default is “Target all clubs.”

User Groups. Choose one or more player groups to target a specific segment. Leave empty to reach all players (“All users — maximum reach”).

After you define the audience, the form displays the estimated reach:

  • Total players — everyone in the selected audience.
  • Will receive notification — only those with the app installed and notifications enabled.

While the system recalculates, a “Calculating reach…” indicator appears. The final number shown is approximate (~N) because players can change notification permissions at any time.

FieldDescription
Notification titleMain headline visible on the lock screen
DescriptionShort notification body text
Notification thumbnailOptional preview image

The right side of the form shows a live mobile preview in two modes: Lock Screen and In-App. The preview updates as you fill in fields.

News card — an optional expanded block that opens when the player taps the notification. Add it via “Add news card.” It includes:

  • Modal window title
  • Cover image
  • Full-text body
  • CTA button text and deep-link payload

Defines what the app opens when the player taps the notification.

Action typeWhat it opens
Open home screenMain app home screen (default)
Open club profileThe selected club’s profile page
Open barThe bar section of a specific club; optionally pre-select an item
Open club searchClub search screen with a preset query

If no action is configured, the home screen opens by default.

Two modes:

  • Send now — the campaign starts immediately after clicking “Launch campaign.”
  • Schedule — set a specific “Send date and time.” Delivery uses the local time of each selected club. Minimum lead time is 1 minute from now.

If you select “Schedule” but enter a time in the past, the system will show a warning and prevent the campaign from launching.

Before launching the main campaign, IZI lets you send the notification to a single player to verify how it looks on a real device.

  1. In the “Test Send” block of the creation form, select a recipient from the player list.
  2. Click Test Send.
  3. The notification is delivered only to that player. A countdown timer appears on the button before the next test send is allowed.

The test send does not start the main campaign and has no effect on its metrics.

StatusMeaning
PendingCampaign created, being processed by the system
ScheduledWaiting for the scheduled send time
In ProgressNotifications are being delivered right now
CompletedAll notifications sent
CancelledCampaign was cancelled before sending
ErrorA technical error occurred during delivery

Statuses update automatically via real-time subscription — the table reflects the current state without a manual refresh.

After a campaign completes, two key metrics appear in the table and in the campaign detail view.

Reach — the count of unique users who received the notification out of the total users in the campaign. Shows the actual delivery scale.

Open Rate — the share of unique users who opened the notification out of the total users in the campaign. Helps evaluate content quality and audience relevance.

Both metrics are visible in the campaigns table and in the detail view (click any row to open it).

  • Scheduled campaigns (status “Scheduled”) — can be edited or cancelled before the send time using the “Cancel campaign” button in the detail view.
  • Completed campaigns — editing and cancellation are not available. Opening such a campaign displays an “Editing unavailable” message. The system offers to Create new based on the existing campaign.

How Campaigns Fit With Other Marketing Tools

Section titled “How Campaigns Fit With Other Marketing Tools”

Campaigns work alongside the rest of IZI’s marketing toolkit:

  • Player Groups — segment your player base for precise campaign targeting. Build a group first, then launch a campaign scoped to it.
  • Promo Campaigns — a separate tool for promo codes and top-up bonuses. Different mechanics, but the same audience base.

To reach your entire club base, create a campaign with no group filter. To run a targeted promotion for a specific segment, create the player group first, then launch the campaign targeting only that group.

The exact number of players who received the notification is only available after the campaign completes — the pre-launch figure is always an estimate based on current app installations and notification settings.

Frequently asked questions

What are Campaigns in IZI?

Campaigns is the built-in push notification tool in IZI CRM. You pick an audience, write a message, and either send it immediately or schedule it for a specific time — all without any third-party messaging service.

Which players will actually receive the notification?

Only players who have the IZI mobile app installed and have notifications enabled. The system shows you the real reachable count before you launch, so there are no surprises after the send.

Can I target specific player groups?

Yes. The 'User Groups' field lets you select one or more groups. Leave it empty to reach all players (maximum reach). Groups are managed in the Player Groups section.

Can I limit a campaign to specific clubs in my network?

Yes. The 'Club Filter' field lets you select one or more clubs in the organization. By default the campaign covers all clubs.

How do I schedule a campaign for a future time?

In the 'Send Schedule' section, select 'Schedule', then set the date and time. Delivery uses the local time of each selected club. The minimum lead time is 1 minute from now.

What is a news card in a campaign?

An optional expanded content block that opens when a player taps the notification. It contains a modal title, a cover image, a full-text body, and a call-to-action button.

What happens when a player taps the notification?

The app opens the screen defined in 'Tap Action': Home screen, Club profile, Bar section, or Club search. If no action is configured, the home screen opens by default.

Can I edit or cancel a campaign after it starts?

Scheduled campaigns (status 'Scheduled') can be edited or cancelled before the send time. Already-sent campaigns cannot be modified or recalled. The system will offer to create a new campaign based on the original.

What do Reach and Open Rate mean?

Reach is the count of unique users who received the notification out of the total in the campaign. Open Rate is the share of unique users who tapped to open it. Both appear in the campaign table and in the detail view.

How do I send a test notification before launching?

In the campaign creation form, use the 'Test Send' block: select a recipient from the player list and click 'Test Send'. The notification goes only to that player — the main campaign is not triggered and metrics are unaffected.

What campaign statuses exist?

Pending, Scheduled, In Progress, Completed, Cancelled, Error. Statuses update in real time via subscription — no manual page refresh needed.

Do campaigns work across multiple clubs in a network?

Yes. If your organization manages several clubs, you can target any combination of them or send to the whole network at once.
