Opening and Closing a Shift in IZI

Published: · IZI Team

A shift in IZI is the working period of the club — from the moment the administrator opens it to when it is closed. All sessions, sales, and financial movements are tied to a shift.

  1. Log in to IZI CRM with your staff account
  2. On the Dashboard, click Open Shift
  3. Enter the opening cash balance (how much cash is in the register at shift start)
  4. Click Confirm

The shift is now open. The dashboard shows the shift start time and the opening administrator.

Clients can now start sessions.

The shift dashboard shows in real-time:

  • Active sessions and remaining balance for each client
  • Total revenue for the shift (gaming time + bar)
  • Cash and non-cash payments breakdown

If a client’s balance is running low, IZI notifies the administrator automatically.

  1. Make sure all active sessions are ended (or will continue into the next shift)
  2. Click Close Shift in the dashboard
  3. Enter the closing cash amount (count the register)
  4. Review the shift summary — revenue, session count, discrepancies (if any)
  5. Click Confirm Close

The shift report is saved and available in Analytics → Shifts.

MetricWhat it shows
Total revenueAll payments received during the shift
Gaming time revenueRevenue from sessions only
Bar revenueFood and drinks sold
Cash paymentsTotal cash received
Non-cash paymentsCard/balance payments
Cash discrepancyDifference between expected and actual cash in register
Sessions countNumber of completed sessions

If the actual cash in the register does not match the expected amount:

  • Small discrepancy (change errors): note it in the shift comments, confirm close
  • Large discrepancy: investigate before closing — check for unrecorded manual payments or refunds

Do not adjust cash figures to eliminate discrepancies artificially. The discrepancy log is your audit trail.

Frequently asked questions

Can the club operate without an open shift?

No. Sessions can only be started when a shift is open. If no shift is open, the CRM will block session start and prompt the administrator to open a shift.

What happens if the administrator forgets to close the shift?

The shift remains open. IZI will flag it as exceeding the expected duration (configurable, default 24 hours). The next administrator opening a new shift will be prompted to close the previous one first.

Can multiple administrators work in the same shift?

Yes. A shift is opened by one administrator, but any authorized staff member can work during it. The shift log records which administrator performed each action.
