Postpay Sessions: Play Now, Pay Later

Published: · IZI Team

With postpay the player sits down at a PC without paying in advance. Everything they take in the club, tariffs and bar items, is collected on one open bill that can be settled after the game.

  1. In the organization menu open Payments.
  2. In the clubs table find the Postpayment column and switch on the toggle for the club. Next to it you see “Enabled” or “Disabled”.

Postpay is enabled per club. If the toggle is unavailable, you do not have the right to edit that club.

  1. The player picks a tariff or product in the app. Instead of paying, the button offers Add to bill, with a hint showing the current bill total and the total after adding.
  2. The items go onto the open bill. If the bill includes a tariff, the session starts right away, with no payment.
  3. While the bill is open, the player’s next purchases in this club are added to the same bill, and a new session goes onto it too.
  4. The player sees an Open bill card with the amount and the number of items.

The player can end the session themselves, but that does not close the bill: it stays open until it is paid.

Paying the bill is not tied to the start or end of the session.

  • Club without a cash register. The player opens the bill in the app and taps Pay bill: payment from the balance or by card.
  • Club with a cash register. The app shows a note that the administrator closes the bill and the player should go to the till.

A Postpayment session opened by the administrator

Section titled “A Postpayment session opened by the administrator”

When postpay is on, the hall session dialog lets you choose a mode: Regular or Postpayment. Postpayment suits play with no fixed length:

  • the session stays open until it is ended manually;
  • the chosen time is only the starting point;
  • the timer counts up;
  • time is extended automatically: the system adds the needed tariff to the bill itself, and this cannot be turned off by hand.

A player cannot create such a session from the app; only an administrator can.

  • On the session bar in the hall, next to the status and time, you see the amount the player has not yet paid.
  • In the orders list such a bill has the status Postpayment. If only part has been paid, the status is “Partially paid”.
  • To close the bill, open the order in the Orders section and pay it. An order that was never paid can be cancelled. If the tariff has already been used it cannot be cancelled, but the order can be written off: sessions and tariff amounts are kept, and the order leaves the unpaid list.
  • In a postpay club a session starts without payment as long as the order is not cancelled, written off or refunded.
  • If part of a bill is already paid or a discount has been applied to it, its prices are fixed. New items then go onto a new bill.
  • A purchase the player pays for immediately does not go onto the open bill; it becomes a separate order.
  • If you turn postpay off, bills that are already open stay unpaid, but new sessions in the club again require payment before they start. Close those bills manually.

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn on postpay?

In the organization menu open Payments and switch on the Postpayment toggle for the club you need. The setting is per club, and the toggle is available to staff who can edit that club.

Does the player have to pay before the session starts?

No. In a postpay club the player picks a tariff or product and taps Add to bill. The items go onto an open bill and the session starts without payment.

Where and when does the player pay the bill?

Whenever they like while the bill is open. In a club without a cash register they can pay the bill in the app from their balance or by card. In a club with a cash register the administrator closes the bill at the till.

What happens if the player does not pay the bill?

The bill stays open. The administrator sees it as an unpaid order and can take payment, cancel the order (if it was never paid), or write it off if the tariff has already been used.

Can a player open an open-ended session on their own?

No. A session in Postpayment mode is created only by an administrator in CRM. A player in the app adds regular tariffs to the bill.
