Club map: placing zones and devices

Published: · IZI Team

The club map is an interactive floor plan in IZI CRM. It shows who is at which seat, how much session time remains, and the real-time status of every device — all at a glance. Set it up once and admins can see the entire hall from their desk: free seats, active sessions, reservations.

Where to find it: CRM left menu → select your club → MainClub Map.

If the item is not in the menu, your role does not have map view permission. See the Permissions section below.

If the map has not been configured yet, the screen shows a placeholder reading “The club map isn’t set up yet” with a Set up the map button. The button only appears when you have edit permission.

Each device on the map is represented by a marker. The marker color and icon reflect its real-time status:

StatusMeaning
FreeDevice is online, no active session
In sessionActive session in progress, timer visible
Waiting for paymentSession ended, player has not paid yet
HoldSeat reserved for an upcoming session
OfflineIZI agent is not responding
OffDevice is powered off
LockedDevice manually locked
Tech modeDevice in technical mode

Clicking a marker opens a side panel with details: player, remaining time, seat history, and quick actions (Seat a player, Extend session, Bar sale).

Click Edit map (appears in the top-right corner when you have edit permission). A status bar appears above the map: “Place devices: X of Y on map”.

The map is an infinite canvas of 20,000 × 20,000 units. Navigation: hold Space and drag to pan, use the scroll wheel to zoom. The Fit button resets the view to show everything placed so far.

Open the Devices tab in the right panel. It lists all club devices not yet on the map.

Two ways to place devices:

  • One at a time: drag a device icon from the right panel onto the desired spot on the canvas.
  • An entire zone at once: switch to the Zones tab → click Place (N) next to the zone you want. All devices in that zone are placed automatically in rows of four, starting from the first available spot. Then drag the whole block or individual devices into position.

The Add all (N) button in the toolbar places every unplaced device at once — handy for the initial setup.

Step 3. Arrange to match the real floor plan

Section titled “Step 3. Arrange to match the real floor plan”

Drag device markers to mirror the actual layout of your hall. Devices snap to a grid, which helps align rows.

Zone outlines are drawn automatically. Each zone’s outline wraps all its devices and expands as you drag — no manual boundary drawing needed. Zones cannot overlap: if two outlines intersect, the map will not save and the status bar will show “Not saved — zones overlap”.

The Done button in the toolbar exits edit mode. You can also navigate away — any unsaved changes are saved automatically (see below).

The map can be adjusted at any time. Click Edit map → move or add devices → changes save automatically.

To remove a device from the map, click its marker in edit mode and click Remove from map in the side panel. The device returns to the unplaced list; its data is not deleted.

The map saves automatically: 800 ms after the last change, the new version is sent to the server. The status bar above the map shows:

  • Saving… — request in progress.
  • Saved — successful.
  • Not saved — network error. Try again or reload the page.
  • Not saved — zones overlap — two zone outlines intersect. Move devices apart until the outlines no longer overlap.

There is no manual Save button — the map is either saved or it is not.

Version conflicts: two admins editing at the same time

Section titled “Version conflicts: two admins editing at the same time”

IZI protects the map from accidentally overwriting someone else’s changes using versioning. Each save carries a version number. If another staff member has saved their version since you loaded the page, the server rejects your save request.

What the admin sees: a banner reading “Another member changed the map — your edits were not saved. Reload the map and repeat them.” with a Reload button.

What to do:

  1. Click Reload — the map reloads with the latest version.
  2. Redo your changes on top of the updated map.

Unsaved edits are lost — the system cannot merge them automatically. To avoid conflicts, agree with your team that only one admin edits the map at a time while others view it.

Permissions: CLUB_MAP_READ and CLUB_MAP_EDIT

Section titled “Permissions: CLUB_MAP_READ and CLUB_MAP_EDIT”

The map uses two permissions:

CLUB_MAP_READ — view the map.

  • Adds Club Map to the Main menu.
  • Lets you see device positions and real-time statuses.
  • Part of the club.map capability group.

CLUB_MAP_EDIT — edit device positions.

  • Lets you enter edit mode and save changes.
  • Part of the club.equipment (Equipment) capability group.
  • Without CLUB_MAP_READ, the Edit map button is unavailable.

Recommended assignments:

Permissions are assigned through organization role settings. See Staff, roles, and permissions and How to configure a role for details.

Frequently asked questions

How do I open the club map in IZI?

In the CRM left menu, select your club, then go to Main → Club Map. If the item is missing, your role does not have the club.map permission. Ask the owner to grant access.

Do I need to save the map manually?

No. Changes are saved automatically 800 ms after your last action. The status bar above the map shows Saving… and then Saved.

What should I do if I see a 'Map was changed by another staff member' message?

Click Reload. Your unsaved edits will be lost — you will need to redo them on top of the latest version. To avoid conflicts, do not edit the map at the same time as a colleague.

What is the difference between CLUB_MAP_READ and CLUB_MAP_EDIT?

CLUB_MAP_READ lets you view the map (adds Club Map to the Main menu). CLUB_MAP_EDIT lets you move devices — it is part of the Equipment (club.equipment) permission group. A hall manager typically gets both; a cashier gets only CLUB_MAP_READ.

Are zone boundaries drawn manually?

No. Zone outlines are generated automatically around all devices that belong to the zone and expand as you drag devices. You do not need to draw boundaries by hand.

Can I place all devices in a zone at once?

Yes. In edit mode, click Zones in the right panel, find the zone you need, and click Place (N) — all its devices are placed automatically side by side.
