Client Segments

Published: · IZI Team

Segmentation divides your client base into groups that share a behaviour or characteristic — frequency of visits, recency, spend level, group tag. Working with segments is more efficient than client-by-client management, especially for clubs with hundreds of registered players.

Behaviour-based (automatic)

IZI tracks session and transaction data and can identify segments like:

SegmentDefinition
NewRegistered within the last 30 days
Regular3+ visits per month
At-riskNo visit in the last 30 days, was previously regular
DormantNo visit in 60+ days
High-spendTop quartile by monthly spend

These update automatically as data changes.

Group tags (manual)

Admins assign group tags to clients manually or in bulk: Student, VIP, Corporate, Staff. These control tariff access and discount eligibility. See player groups.

In Clients, use the filter panel to narrow by:

  • Visit frequency (visits per period)
  • Last visit date
  • Total spend (all time or per period)
  • Group tag
  • Registration date
  • Balance status

The filtered view shows all matching clients. Select all → apply group tag or export.

Retention — identify At-risk clients and offer a re-engagement bonus. See reactivate dormant clients.

Upsell — identify Regular clients who always buy 1-hour tariffs. Target them with a multipass offer. See sell multipass.

Loyalty program — promote top-spend clients to VIP group tag, unlocking premium tariffs. See loyalty tiers.

Frequently asked questions

Are segments updated automatically?

Yes. Behaviour-based segments (visit frequency, last visit, spend level) update automatically based on new session and transaction data. Manual group tags require admin action.

Can I create custom segments?

Custom segments are defined by combining filter criteria in the Clients list — visit count, last visit date, total spend, group tag. Save the filter as a segment for reuse.

What can I do with a segment?

Apply group tags in bulk, filter analytics by segment, target bonus rule conditions, and identify candidates for specific tariff offers.
