Upsell Rate in a Gaming Club

Published: · IZI Team

Upsell rate — the share of visits or transactions where a player chose a more expensive option or add-on. Measures how effectively the AOV growth program is working.

Upsell rate = visits with upsell ÷ total visits × 100%

Tracked separately per upsell type:

Upsell typeNumeratorDenominator
Zone upsellPro/VIP sessionsAll sessions
Tariff upsell (multipass)Multipass salesAll tariff sales
Top-up upsellTop-ups above threshold XAll top-ups
Bar upsellSessions with bar orderAll sessions

In Analytics and sales reports:

  • Zone upsell — share of Pro/VIP sessions of all sessions for period
  • Multipass upsell — multipass sales count relative to unique active players
  • Top-up upsell — top-up amount distribution shows how many players hit each bonus tier

Track upsell rate month-over-month. If it rose after admin training or cashier interface changes — the change is working.

Visibility of options. If a player doesn’t see the VIP zone exists, they won’t choose it. Tariff order in cashier, physical signage in hall, admin recommendations at session start.

Clear value proposition. Multipass upsell works when the player sees a comparison: “single hour — X, 20-hour package — Y (Z% cheaper per hour).” No comparison = player defaults to the familiar.

Timing of the offer. Best moment to offer multipass: right after a player finished a long session and is satisfied. Worst: on their first visit when they don’t know if they’ll return.

Top-up bonus as top-up upsell — bonus tiers automatically show the benefit of topping up more. Built-in upsell without admin involvement.
