How to Add a Device to Your IZI Club

Published: · Updated: (12 days ago)· IZI Team

A device in IZI is any piece of hardware on your floor — a gaming PC, a PlayStation or Xbox console, a VR rig, or any other terminal. Once registered, every device becomes an accounting point for sessions and revenue, giving you a complete picture of utilization across the floor. For Windows PCs you install the IZI agent, which reports the machine’s online status, client version, and connectivity state in real time. For non-Windows hardware (consoles, VR headsets, and similar equipment) you choose the Custom type — no agent required, the device simply exists in the CRM as a bookable unit. The whole process for a PC takes three steps: download the installer → run it on the machine → enter the authorization code. After that the computer appears in your floor list and you can assign it to a zone, apply tariffs, and start opening sessions on it right away.

TypeWhat it coversIZI agent required
PCGaming computer running WindowsYes
CustomPlayStation, Xbox, VR, any non-Windows terminalNo
PODOff-site mobile post with its own addressYes

PC is the standard choice for a computer gaming floor. Custom covers console zones. POD is a specialized type for mobile locations with geolocation tracking; its setup is outside the scope of this guide.

  1. Open the CRM and go to the Devices section of your club.
  2. Click Add Device in the top-right corner.
  3. The dialog opens with PC selected by default.
  4. Click Download IZI Installer — the installer file begins downloading.

Supported operating systems:

  • Windows 10 Pro (x64)
  • Windows 10 Enterprise (x64)
  • Windows 11 Pro (x64)
  • Windows 11 Enterprise (x64)

Transfer the installer to the target computer (via USB drive, network share, or shared folder) and run it. During installation the agent sets up the IZI Client service, which automatically connects to your club’s server every time the machine starts.

When installation finishes the agent displays a prompt asking for an authorization code.

  1. Switch back to the CRM — the Add Device dialog is still open.
  2. Click Generate Code.
  3. A six-digit code in the format 123-456 appears in the CRM. The code is valid for 4 hours.
  4. Enter this code in the agent on the PC.
  5. The agent pairs the computer with your club and it appears in the device list.

If the code expires or does not work, click Generate Again — a fresh code is issued immediately.

Adding a Console or VR Headset (type Custom)

Section titled “Adding a Console or VR Headset (type Custom)”

Non-Windows devices (PlayStation, Xbox, VR headsets, etc.) are added manually without installing an agent.

  1. Open Add Device and switch to the Custom tab.
  2. Enter a Device Name — digits only, up to 3 characters (for example: 1, 12, 101). The name must be unique within the club.
  3. Optionally select a Zone from the dropdown.
  4. Click Save — the device appears in the list.

Sessions on Custom devices are opened manually from the CRM; online status is not tracked automatically.

Once a PC is registered, open its card by clicking the edit button in the device list. Additional settings are available here:

FieldDescription
Device NameDigits only, up to 3 characters. Must be unique within the club.
ZoneAssigns the device to a zone on your floor. Used for filtering and zone-based tariffs.
Wake-on-LANToggle that lets you power on a switched-off PC remotely over the local network. PC type only.
Auto-update clientThe IZI agent updates automatically when new versions are released. PC type only; available in dev environments.

The Devices section shows a table of all active devices in your club. Columns:

  • Device — name and type (icon).
  • Zone — which zone the device belongs to.
  • UUID — unique hardware identifier (PC only).
  • Type — PC / Custom / POD.
  • Version — IZI agent version reported by the client (PC only).

Filters let you search by name and filter by zone or type. Devices that are no longer in use can be moved to the archive using the archive icon in their row.

Adding and editing devices requires the appropriate permissions. If the Add Device button is unavailable, ask your account owner to grant the relevant permissions.

If you need to swap the physical computer — for example, replace a motherboard or move a PC to a different slot — follow the guide on replacing a device in the club. That guide covers how to keep session history intact during the swap.

How long is the authorization code valid? 4 hours. Click Generate Again if it expires.

What is Wake-on-LAN and why does it matter? WoL lets you power on a switched-off PC remotely over the local network. Enable it in the device card with the Wake-on-LAN toggle (PC type only). See also Wake-on-LAN in the glossary.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add a PC to an IZI gaming club?

Open Devices in the CRM, click Add Device, select type PC, download the IZI installer, and run it on the target computer. When the agent prompts for a code, click Generate Code in the CRM — you will see a six-digit code valid for 4 hours. Enter it in the agent and the machine is registered.

How do I add a PlayStation, Xbox, or VR headset?

Click Add Device and switch to the Custom tab. Enter a numeric-only name (up to 3 characters) and optionally pick a zone. No IZI agent is needed — the device is tracked in the CRM without software.

How long is the authorization code valid?

The code is valid for 4 hours. If it expires, click Generate Again in the CRM to get a new one.

What is a device UUID?

UUID is a unique identifier the IZI agent generates from the PC's hardware characteristics. It ties that specific machine to your club and is visible in the device list in the CRM.

Can I assign a device to a zone?

Yes. For Custom devices you can pick a zone during creation. For PC devices you can set the zone in the device card after registration. Zones structure your floor plan and enable zone-based filtering in the CRM.

What is Wake-on-LAN and why does it matter?

Wake-on-LAN (WoL) lets you power on a switched-off PC remotely over the local network. In IZI it is toggled from the device card (PC type only) using the Wake-on-LAN switch.
