Club Zones: Splitting Your Hall into Segments with Different Prices

Section titled “Club Zones: Splitting Your Hall into Segments with Different Prices”

A zone is a named segment of your hall that groups a set of devices together. Zones let one club sell gaming time at different prices simultaneously — regular seats at the base rate, a VIP sector at a premium, a PlayStation corner at its own rate. Each club has its own independent zone list, managed in the CRM under Club Settings → Zones.

Each zone has a Zone name (up to 50 characters) plus three toggles that control what happens to PCs in that zone: Reboot PC after session, Shut down PC after session, and Diskless zone (network-system).

Reboot after session and shut down after session both reset a machine for the next player, but they are mutually exclusive — enabling one switches the other off. Reboot clears any changes left by the previous player and is the default for regular seats. Shutdown powers the PC off instead, which fits clubs that bring machines back up with Wake-on-LAN at opening. Disable both for VIP rooms where a regular returns immediately, or for test machines a technician is cycling through.

Diskless zone (network-system) marks every PC in the zone as booting over the network via CCBoot instead of from a local disk — there’s no local drive, so disk protection isn’t managed for these machines. This is a one-time choice made when the zone is created; it can’t be changed afterward.

  1. In the CRM sidebar, open your club and go to Settings → Zones.
  2. Click Add in the top-right corner.
  3. Enter a Zone name (for example: VIP, Standard, PlayStation).
  4. Set Reboot PC after session or Shut down PC after session as needed — only one can be on at a time.
  5. If the PCs in this zone boot over the network rather than from a local disk, turn on Diskless zone (network-system). This choice is permanent for the zone.
  6. Click Save.

Once the zone exists, assign devices to it from each device’s individual settings in the Devices section.

A zone does not set a price on its own. A tariff sets the price — but a tariff can be restricted to specific zones so it only applies to devices there. Staff at the point of sale see only the tariffs that match the zone of the selected device. Full setup is in zone-based tariffs.

IZI automatically unlinks all devices from a zone before deleting it. The devices remain in the system in an unassigned state — reassign them manually so zone-restricted tariffs apply again.

Frequently asked questions

What is a zone in IZI?

A zone is a named segment of your hall that groups several devices together. Tariffs with their own prices are attached to zones, so a VIP sector and regular seats can cost differently without any extra per-session configuration.

How many zones can I create?

There is no limit. Create as many segments as your hall needs — Standard, VIP, PlayStation, Turbo, or anything else.

How do I assign a device to a zone?

Open the settings for the device in the Devices section and choose a zone from the dropdown. Each device belongs to exactly one zone at a time.

What happens to devices when a zone is deleted?

IZI automatically unlinks all devices from the zone before deleting it. The devices remain in the system but move to an unassigned state — you need to reassign them manually.

What does the 'PC reboot after session' toggle do?

When enabled, every PC in the zone reboots after each session, giving the next player a clean system state. When disabled, the machine stays on — useful for VIP rooms where a regular customer returns immediately, or for troubleshooting specific machines.

Can I reorder zones in the list?

Yes. Zones in the CRM support drag-and-drop reordering. The order is shown to staff when they select a zone during a session.

How do zones affect pricing?

A zone does not set a price on its own — that is the tariff's job. But you can restrict a tariff to specific zones so that the VIP price only applies to devices in the VIP zone. See the zone-based tariffs section for details.

Do I need to create zones before adding devices?

No, but it is recommended. A device can be added without a zone and assigned to one later. However, tariffs restricted to zones will not apply to unassigned devices.

How do I find a zone in a long list?

The Zones section has a search bar at the top — it filters by zone name (minimum 2 characters).

What does the 'Auto-reboot disabled' label mean in the zone list?

It is a warning badge next to any zone where the 'PC reboot after session' toggle is turned off, indicating that machines in that zone are not reset between players automatically.

What is the difference between 'Reboot after session' and 'Shut down after session'?

Both reset a PC for the next player, but reboot restarts the machine while shutdown powers it off. They are mutually exclusive — turning one on switches the other off automatically. Use shutdown if your club powers PCs back on with Wake-on-LAN at opening rather than leaving them running.

What is a diskless (network-system) zone?

A diskless zone boots every PC in it over the network via CCBoot instead of a local disk — there is no local drive to protect, so disk protection settings don't apply. You choose this when creating the zone; it cannot be switched on or off later, so plan which zones are diskless before adding devices to them.
