How to Start a Session in IZI
How to Start a Session in IZI
Section titled “How to Start a Session in IZI”Starting a gaming session in IZI means placing an order — a tariff plus optional bar items — through the Place Order modal opened directly from the Hall page. The admin clicks the order button on the target PC card, selects a tariff (a set of rules covering duration, zone, and schedule), optionally links a client, and clicks “Place order and proceed to payment.” After payment — cash, card, or bonus balance — IZI automatically starts the timer on that PC via IZI Boot. With a little practice the whole flow takes 15–30 seconds. The sections below walk through each step and cover edge cases worth knowing.
Step 1. Open the Place Order modal
Section titled “Step 1. Open the Place Order modal”On the Hall page every PC is shown as a status card. To start a session:
- Find a free PC in the zone you need.
- Click the order button on that PC’s card.
- The Place Order modal opens — catalogue on the left, cart on the right.
The modal already knows which PC it was opened from. IZI uses that context to filter tariff availability: tariffs that are not configured for this PC’s zone appear greyed out with the tooltip “Tariff not available for the selected zone.”
Step 2. Select a tariff from the catalogue
Section titled “Step 2. Select a tariff from the catalogue”The catalogue has four tabs:
| Tab | Contents |
|---|---|
| Tariffs | Gaming tariffs: hourly, multipass, night rates, etc. |
| Combos | Bundled offers (e.g. a tariff combined with a drink) |
| Products | Bar items, snacks, accessories |
| Purchased tariffs | Pre-paid tariffs already on the client’s balance (used for renewals) |
For a new session, use the Tariffs tab. You can search by name using the “Search tariffs…” field or filter by tariff group.
If a tariff card is greyed out it is unavailable. Possible reasons:
- Not available for the selected zone — the tariff is not linked to this PC’s zone.
- Schedule restricts usage time — the tariff has a time window (e.g. weekdays 10:00–22:00) and the current time is outside it.
- Minimum duration exceeds the available window — the time until the next booking on this PC is shorter than the tariff’s minimum duration.
- Product out of stock or tariff is archived.
Click a tariff card to add it to the cart. If the tariff requires configuration, IZI automatically opens the configuration panel.
Step 3. Configure the tariff
Section titled “Step 3. Configure the tariff”For tariffs with selectable parameters, a “Configure tariff” panel appears with these fields:
Usage policy — sets the specific conditions: schedule, available zones, and duration options. One tariff can have multiple policies (e.g. “Weekdays” and “Weekends” at different rates). If only one policy is valid at the current time, IZI pre-fills it automatically.
Zone — auto-filled from the PC context. If the tariff is available in multiple zones, select the correct one manually.
Duration — for tariffs with variable time (e.g. “30 min to 4 hours”). Enter the desired number of minutes; the total price updates in real time using the formula unit price × multiplier = total.
Click “Add” to confirm — the item appears in the cart showing the selected policy and zone.
Step 4. Add a client (optional)
Section titled “Step 4. Add a client (optional)”At the top of the cart panel there is a “Select client” field. Search by name or phone number.
Linking a client enables:
- Loyalty bonus accrual based on the club’s loyalty programme.
- The session appearing in that client’s visit history for analytics.
- Using a pre-paid multipass or package tariff from the client’s balance.
Without a client the session runs as a one-time guest visit. These visits show in reports as anonymous entries — they cannot be deduplicated into unique customer counts.
Step 5. Add bar items (optional)
Section titled “Step 5. Add bar items (optional)”You can combine gaming time and bar products in a single order. Switch to the Products or Combos tab and add what you need. Each product line has an optional comment field.
When bar items are in the cart, a “Mark as issued” toggle appears at the bottom. Enable it if the items will be handed over immediately after payment — the order will be automatically marked as fulfilled.
For products requiring marking (e.g. DataMatrix labelling), scan the code before adding the item to the cart.
Step 6. Place the order and pay
Section titled “Step 6. Place the order and pay”Review the cart: tariff, zone, client, total. Then click “Place order and proceed to payment.”
This opens the Order Payment page, which lists all unpaid orders. Select the order and choose a payment method:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Cash / Card | Physical payment |
| Bonuses | Client’s bonus balance (available only if a client is linked) |
| Total | Amount due |
Click “Pay order” — IZI starts the timer on the PC via IZI Boot and creates a session record in the system.
After a successful payment you will see a “Order successfully paid” confirmation. If the fiscal receipt failed to print, a separate notification appears — the payment itself is already recorded.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Order placed but payment is no longer needed — click “Cancel order.” The order is removed from the unpaid list and any stocked products return to inventory.
The tariff has already started but payment did not go through — the Cancel button is unavailable in this state. Use “Write off” — the order is marked as unrecoverable but the session and timer remain active.
Need to add time to a running session — use the extend function. See How to Extend a Session in IZI.
Starting a session from a pre-paid tariff
Section titled “Starting a session from a pre-paid tariff”If a client has already purchased a multipass or package tariff, open the “Purchased tariffs” tab in the catalogue. No new payment is collected — IZI draws from the balance of the existing paid tariff. The cart shows the remaining session count.
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”Why does the cart clear when I close the modal? Incomplete orders are intentionally not saved between admin interactions to avoid confusion from stale unpaid items. If the modal closed by accident, simply start the order again.
Can I change the tariff configuration after adding it to the cart? For tariffs with a configuration (zone, duration) — yes, click the edit icon next to the cart line. To swap the tariff entirely, remove the line with the ”×” button and add a different one.
Where can I see a history of started sessions? In the analytics section — Session Report — which lists all sessions for a chosen period broken down by tariff, zone, and client.
Frequently asked questions
How do I start a session in IZI?
Open the Place Order modal from the PC card in the Hall section. The left panel shows the catalogue (tariffs, products, combos); the right panel is the cart. Select a tariff, configure zone and duration if required, optionally add a client, then click 'Place order and proceed to payment'.
Can I start a session without linking a client?
Yes. The 'Select client' field is optional. The session will run as a one-time (guest) visit with no profile attached. It will still appear in reports, but loyalty bonuses cannot be accrued and the visit cannot be deduplicated as a unique customer.
What is a zone when configuring a tariff?
A zone is a group of PCs sharing the same pricing rules — for example 'VIP', 'Standard', or 'PS Zone'. A tariff can be linked to one or more zones. IZI auto-fills the zone from the PC you opened the modal from; you only pick manually when the tariff covers several zones.
What is a usage policy on a tariff?
A usage policy defines the exact conditions under which a tariff applies: which zones it covers, the allowed start schedule, and available durations. One tariff can have multiple policies — for instance 'Weekdays' and 'Weekends' at different rates.
Why is a tariff greyed out and unselectable?
A tariff becomes unavailable for one of these reasons: the product is out of stock, the tariff is archived, its schedule does not include the current time, or it is not linked to the zone of the selected PC. Hover over the greyed card to see the exact reason in the tooltip.
Can I add both a tariff and bar items in one order?
Yes. The catalogue has three tabs: Tariffs, Products, and Combos. Add items from any tab into a single cart. After payment, the gaming timer starts automatically, and you can mark bar items as issued right away using the 'Mark as issued' toggle.
