Zones in IZI — Setup and Management
Zones let you group seats by type and assign different pricing to each group. A standard PC area, a VIP section with higher-spec hardware, a console zone — each can have its own tariff. When an admin opens a session on a specific device, IZI reads the device’s zone assignment and applies the correct price automatically.
Default Zone
Section titled “Default Zone”When you create a club in IZI, a default zone is created automatically. All devices added to the club go into this zone unless you explicitly move them.
If you have one pricing tier for all seats, you do not need to create additional zones. The default zone handles everything, and zone configuration never becomes part of your daily workflow.
Creating a New Zone
Section titled “Creating a New Zone”Navigate to Settings → Zones → Add Zone.
Fill in the following fields:
- Zone name — displayed in the CRM and in analytics reports. Use descriptive names your staff will recognise instantly: “Standard”, “VIP”, “PlayStation”, “Panoramic”.
- Description — optional internal note. Useful for documenting which specific machines belong here or what equipment tier defines this zone.
- Available tariffs — which tariffs clients can purchase for seats in this zone. A VIP zone typically has its own pricing within a shared tariff, configured via zone pricing in the tariff’s Usage Policy.
After saving, the new zone appears in the Devices section, where you can start assigning machines to it.
Assigning Devices to a Zone
Section titled “Assigning Devices to a Zone”Open Settings → Devices, click any device, then find the Zone field and select from the dropdown.
For bulk assignments: check the boxes next to multiple devices, then choose Bulk action → Change Zone. This is faster when setting up a new hall or reorganising sections after a hardware upgrade.
Each device can belong to only one zone at a time. Reassigning a device takes effect immediately for new sessions — ongoing sessions continue under the zone they started in.
Zone Pricing in Tariffs
Section titled “Zone Pricing in Tariffs”Zone pricing is configured inside the tariff, not inside the zone itself. Open a tariff card → Usage Policy block → enable Zone pricing → enter a price for each zone.
This means one tariff can carry different rates:
| Zone | Typical multiplier vs. Standard |
|---|---|
| Standard | 1.0× |
| Pro | 1.3–1.5× |
| VIP | 1.7–2.2× |
The cashier selects the same tariff regardless of which zone the player sits in — IZI applies the correct zone rate automatically based on the device. For full setup steps, see Zone-Based Pricing in IZI.
Zone-Based Analytics
Section titled “Zone-Based Analytics”In Analytics → Revenue, filter by zone to see:
- Revenue per zone
- Average session duration per zone
- Most popular tariff per zone
This data often reveals zone-specific patterns that aggregate numbers hide. A club reporting 55% overall hall utilization might have Standard running at 75% and VIP at 25% — two completely different problems requiring different responses. Standard may need a night tariff to smooth demand. VIP may need targeted promotions or a display change to make the premium more visible to walk-in traffic.
Comparing zone load heatmaps across weekdays vs. weekends shows whether off-peak discounts should be zone-specific. IZI’s Analytics → Session Report → Load supports zone filtering for exactly this analysis.
Typical Zone Setups
Section titled “Typical Zone Setups”2-zone setup (most common):
- Zone Standard — all regular PCs, base tariff pricing
- Zone VIP — premium hardware, 20–30% higher rate configured via zone pricing in shared tariffs
3-zone setup:
- Zone Standard
- Zone Pro — 144 Hz+ monitors, higher-end peripherals
- Zone Console — PlayStation or Xbox stations, typically fixed-session tariff
Single zone: appropriate for small clubs (under 15 seats) with uniform hardware and one pricing tier. No extra configuration needed — the default zone covers everything.
Zones as a Revenue Tool
Section titled “Zones as a Revenue Tool”Zone differentiation is a low-friction upsell mechanism. When a player arrives for a Standard seat and the admin mentions that a Pro station with a 165 Hz monitor is available at a small premium, some players accept. The upgrade requires no extra cashier steps — same tariff, same flow, just a different device selected.
This consistent offer converts a meaningful share of walk-ins to higher-tier seats. Combined with zone-based pricing, it directly increases revenue per occupied seat-hour without changing the tariff structure or adding complexity to cashier workflows.
Clubs that track zone-level data can also identify which zones are consistently underutilised and run targeted promotions specifically for those areas — without discounting the entire hall. A weekend VIP promo affects only the VIP zone’s revenue, leaving Standard pricing untouched.

Section titled “See Also”Frequently asked questions
Do I need zones if I have only one type of PC?
IZI creates a default zone automatically. If all your seats have the same pricing, you can use the default zone and never touch zone settings. Zones become important when you have different pricing areas.
Can a device be in multiple zones?
No. Each device belongs to exactly one zone. To change a device's zone, go to Settings → Devices → select device → change Zone.
Can I change a zone's tariff while sessions are active?
Yes, but the change applies to new sessions only. Active sessions continue with the tariff that was in effect when they started.
How many zones can I create in IZI?
There is no strict limit on zone count. Most clubs work well with 2–3 zones. Adding more zones only makes sense when pricing genuinely differs across groups of seats — too many zones complicate cashier workflows without delivering extra revenue.
What happens to analytics when I move a device to a different zone?
Historical data stays tied to the zone the device was in when each session occurred. Reassigning a device affects new sessions only. Your past revenue-by-zone reports remain accurate.
