Bonus Account Balance

Published: · Updated: (12 days ago)· IZI Team

The bonus balance is a loyalty credit wallet — separate from the client’s main IZI balance. Clients earn it through bonus program rules (top-ups, birthdays, first visits, and other events configured by the club) and spend it on sessions and bar orders, within the percentage limits you set per tariff and product. Unlike real money, bonus credit is issued by the club and subject to the club’s spending rules.

At the cashier, kiosk, or mobile app — when a client has bonus credit, IZI automatically offers to apply it toward the payment. Spending is always partial: the client can cover only a share of the total with bonuses; the remainder comes from IZI balance or cash.

The maximum bonus percentage is set in each tariff’s settings — the Max bonus % field. For example, if the cap is 30% and the session costs 100 units, the client can apply at most 30 bonus units; the remaining 70 must be paid with real balance.

To see how actively clients are using bonuses on average, check Analytics → Top-up bonuses.

In the client card (Clients → select a client) you can see:

  • Current bonus balance
  • Full history of accruals and deductions with dates and amounts
  • Source of each accrual (which rule triggered it)

Both balances update in real time as transactions occur.

To manually add bonus to a client (gesture of goodwill, compensation, or staff discretion):

  1. Open the client card.
  2. Click Add bonus (or find it in the actions menu).
  3. Enter the amount and a reason.
  4. Save.

The action is logged with the admin’s name and the reason entered, creating a full audit trail.

If a purchase is cancelled, any bonuses the client spent on it are returned to their bonus account. The exact behavior is controlled by the tariff’s Refund policy field — options typically include: return to bonus account, forfeit, or keep partial balance. This lets you decide whether clients recover their bonus credit on cancellations.

Accrued bonuses can have a validity period. Configure expiration rules in Bonus expiration policy. Clients can see the expiry date for each bonus batch in the IZI mobile app, which nudges them to return before credits lapse.

Frequently asked questions

Is bonus balance the same as IZI balance?

No. IZI balance is real money deposited by the client. Bonus balance is loyalty credit earned through the bonus program. They're stored separately and have different spending rules.

Can clients pay entirely with bonuses?

It depends on the tariff setting. Most tariffs have a max bonus percentage cap — for example, no more than 50% of the total. This is configured per tariff individually.

What happens to bonuses on a refund?

If a purchase is cancelled, any bonuses spent on it are returned to the client's bonus account. The exact behavior depends on the tariff's refund policy setting.

Can clients see their own bonus balance?

Yes. In the IZI mobile app, clients can see their current bonus balance and the full transaction history.
