Client Groups in IZI: Students, Teams, Corporate

Section titled “Client Groups in IZI: Students, Teams, Corporate”

Client groups are a segmentation tool within the client database. Each group is a named segment: an administrator assigns one or more groups to a client, and the client gains access to corresponding tariffs and loyalty program rules.

Typical groups: VIP, Students, Corporate, Team, Regular, New. The list is not fixed — each club creates its own groups to match its pricing policy.

Differentiated pricing. Students pay less during school hours, corporate clients get wholesale rates, VIP clients get a personal zone or unlimited tariff. All of this is configured through groups.

Targeted loyalty programs. An automation rule with the condition “client is in VIP group” awards an enhanced bonus or sends a special notification. Without groups, this level of precision is impossible.

Segmentation in analytics. Comparing ARPU of the VIP group against the overall average reveals the real value of the segment. This is the foundation for loyalty program decisions.

Filtered operations. An administrator quickly finds the right segment: filter by “Corporate” group — see only those clients.

Groups are created in the club management section:

  1. Go to Settings → Client Groups (or the equivalent section in your CRM version)
  2. Click Create Group
  3. Enter a name and optional description
  4. Save

Once created, the group appears in the multi-select field on client profiles.

From the client profile:

  1. Open the client profile
  2. In the Groups block, click the field and select the desired groups from the list
  3. Changes are saved automatically

Bulk assignment:

  1. In the Clients section, select multiple clients (row checkboxes)
  2. Choose the Add to Group action
  3. Specify the group — it will apply to all selected clients

In the client profile, in the Groups block, deselect the group. Instant.

A student tariff is one of the most common use cases for groups. Typically: reduced price during daytime (weekdays, school hours), with possible time-of-day or day-of-week restrictions.

How to implement:

  1. Create a “Students” group
  2. In the Tariffs section, create a student tariff (reduced price; restrict by time if needed)
  3. Link the tariff to the Students group — the tariff will only be available to clients in that group
  4. When registering a student, add them to the group. The administrator will see the student tariff in the available list when starting a session

Student status verification. IZI does not technically verify student status — this is the administrator’s responsibility. Standard practice: ask to show a student card at the first enrollment into the group. Note it in the profile.

A corporate account is when the club works with a company: employees come to play on the corporate account, and the company pays under a contract.

Model 1: Shared Corporate Account

Create one profile with a company name instead of an individual’s name. Top up the balance from the company. The administrator starts sessions from this profile at each employee visit.

Pro: simplicity. Con: cannot track which specific employee played.

Model 2: Employee Profiles in a Corporate Group

Create a group “Corporate: [Company Name]”. Each employee is a separate profile in this group. The corporate tariff is linked to the group.

Pro: full history per employee. Con: more administrative work when adding new employees.

For both models: agree on terms with the company representative (tariffs, prepayment vs post-payment, reconciliation frequency). This is beyond CRM — a contract matter.

Teams that train together have similar needs: play together at set times, want adjacent PCs, sometimes need a group tariff.

Group for a team:

  1. Create a group with the team name
  2. Add all members
  3. Link a tariff or discount if agreed
  4. On booking request — the administrator filters the list by group and sees all members

Reserving a section for a team is a separate process (PC reservation). The group helps quickly find all members and apply a consistent tariff.

Via the Automations module, you can set up automatic transitions between groups based on conditions:

ConditionAction
Visit count ≥ thresholdAdd to “Regular” group
Total spend ≥ thresholdAdd to “VIP” group
No visits for > N daysRemove from “Regular”, add to “Dormant”
Birthday todayAdd to “Birthday” (temporary)

Specific conditions and actions depend on the automation module settings in your IZI version. More details: IZI Automations: Rules and Triggers.

Client groups are not the same as staff roles. A group affects a client’s tariffs and bonuses. A staff role determines what they can do in CRM.

Managing groups (creating, editing) requires the Manage Clients permission. Usually available to the owner and senior administrator.

Assigning a group to a client — available to anyone who can edit profiles. The specific permission set is in your organization’s role settings.

Practical advice: start with the minimum set that covers your real pricing categories. A typical starter set:

  • Standard (all new clients by default)
  • Student (if a student tariff exists)
  • VIP (for high-ARPU clients or special agreements)
  • Corporate (if working with companies)

Do not create groups “for the future” or “just in case” — empty groups clutter the list. A group is needed when a tariff or automation rule is attached to it.

Frequently asked questions

How many groups can be created in IZI?

There is no limit on the number of groups. Create as many segments as needed for your pricing policy and marketing.

Can a client belong to multiple groups at the same time?

Yes. One client can simultaneously be in the 'Student', 'VIP', and 'Regular' groups. Each group can provide its own tariffs and bonus rules.

How is a tariff applied if a client is in multiple groups with different prices?

The administrator manually selects the tariff when starting a session from those available for the client. The system shows all tariffs the client has access to based on their groups.

Can clients be automatically added to a group based on a condition?

Yes, via the IZI automation module. For example: a client made 10 visits — automatically joins the 'Regular' group. Or: spent above a threshold — joins 'VIP'.

Does a corporate client pay from a shared balance or does each employee pay separately?

Depends on the setup. You can create one profile with a shared balance for a corporate account, or maintain separate profiles for each employee in the 'Corporate' group with individual balances.

Can I export a list of clients in a specific group?

Yes. In the Clients section, filter by group — you get the list. From there, export to CSV or Excel is available.

How do I remove a client from a group?

Open the client profile, in the Groups block deselect the group. Changes are saved instantly.
