Bar Overview
The bar module in IZI is a built-in point-of-sale tool for food and drink sales inside a gaming club. Bar orders flow into the same shift as gaming tariffs and appear as a separate line in the shift X-report — no separate cash register needed. For owners, bar sales are additional revenue that easily gets lost in the noise of paper receipts and verbal orders; IZI gives the admin and barista a single shared screen that tracks every order from placement to delivery.
What the bar module consists of
Section titled “What the bar module consists of”Catalog — the list of bar items with prices and categories. The admin sees the catalog when creating an order. The owner or manager configures it. See bar menu setup.
Orders — every sale is recorded as an order. Orders can be attached to a player’s seat or taken at the counter without a session link. Payment methods: cash, card, bonus points, or deduction from a client’s balance.
Warehouse — stock tracking. When an item is sold, its stock count decreases. When stock reaches zero, the item is automatically blocked from sale. More on stock management: Warehouse overview.
Shift report — a sales summary for the shift: revenue, order count, top items. Included in the shift X-report. See bar shift report.
Margins — cost price vs. selling price tracked per product in Analytics → Bar. See bar margins.
How bar orders work
Section titled “How bar orders work”Orders are created two ways: a player places one via the mobile app, or an admin creates one at the counter. Either way, it lands on the live kanban board.
Kanban board: three columns
Section titled “Kanban board: three columns”| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Waiting | Order received, not yet picked up |
| In Progress | Barista is working on it |
| Ready for Pickup | Prepared, waiting for delivery |
Each column transition is timestamped — IZI automatically calculates two timers:
- Wait time — from order creation to work started
- Prep time — from work started to ready for pickup
Owners use these metrics to identify where service slows down and make staffing or workflow decisions across shifts.
Step-by-step order processing
Section titled “Step-by-step order processing”- Take into work — barista clicks, the prep timer starts
- Mark items ready — each item in the order is confirmed individually
- Deliver — deliver individual items as they finish, or use Deliver All to close the whole order at once
Any step can be rolled back if there was an error or if a customer returned an item.
Order history
Section titled “Order history”A table of all orders with filters by status, client, and date. Columns include: created date, status, client, contents, total, wait time, prep time. Clicking a row shows the full order detail.
How the bar integrates with the shift
Section titled “How the bar integrates with the shift”Bar sales are only possible within an open shift. When a shift closes, all bar orders are locked into the totals:
- Bar revenue appears as a separate line in the X-report
- Cash payments feed into the cash balance calculation
- Card payments go into the non-cash total
Orders placed via the mobile app are charged to the player’s gaming balance, which eliminates cash handling and change errors. The shift financial report shows exactly how much revenue the bar generated, separate from gaming sessions — no manual breakdown required.
How to read the X-report → Shift X-report: what the fields mean.
Typical bar flow through a shift
Section titled “Typical bar flow through a shift”- Shift opens → bar becomes available for orders
- A client approaches the counter, or an admin takes an order from the hall
- Admin creates an order, selects items, and accepts payment
- Order closes → revenue is recorded, stock is updated
- At shift close → X-report shows the bar total
Setting up the bar
Section titled “Setting up the bar”Before accepting orders, configure the catalog: add items, categories, prices, and load initial stock quantities into the warehouse.
How to configure the menu → Bar menu setup.
How to take the first order → Take an order at the counter.
Why this matters for the owner
Section titled “Why this matters for the owner”- No lost orders — everything is in the system, not on paper
- Timing data shows real service speed across shifts
- Stock does not silently disappear: every write-off is recorded, inventory checks surface discrepancies
- Bar revenue is visible as its own line in the shift report, with no manual calculation
Analytics and margin
Section titled “Analytics and margin”The bar is not just a convenience for customers — it is a meaningful source of additional revenue. Across clubs, bar sales typically account for 10–25% of total shift revenue.
How to calculate margin on items → Bar margins: how to measure and improve.
How bar data appears in the shift report → Bar in the shift report.
How to bundle gaming time with food → Combo: tariff plus bar.

Frequently asked questions
Is the bar module required to use IZI?
No. The bar module is optional. Clubs that don't sell food or drinks simply don't configure it.
Does the bar module connect to warehouse stock?
Yes. When bar orders are processed, stock quantities in the warehouse decrease automatically if the product is linked to a warehouse item. When stock reaches zero, the item is blocked from sale automatically.
Can bar revenue be separated from gaming revenue in reports?
Yes. When you close a shift, IZI breaks down revenue by channel — gaming sessions and bar appear as separate line items. No manual calculation needed.
Can players order from the bar through the mobile app?
Yes. A player opens the IZI app, selects items from the bar menu, and places the order — it appears instantly on the kanban board at the bar counter. Payment is deducted from their gaming balance automatically. No admin involvement is needed; both sides see order status in real time.
What does the kanban board show and why does it matter?
Three columns: Waiting, In Progress, Ready for pickup. The barista sees all current orders and their queue position. Each column transition is timestamped — IZI automatically calculates wait time (order created to work started) and prep time (work started to ready). Owners use this data to identify where service speed slows down.
Can a bar order be reversed if the barista made a mistake?
Yes. Any processing step can be rolled back — from In Progress back to Waiting, or from Ready back to In Progress. If an order is cancelled entirely, any balance deduction is also reversed.
How do you deliver part of an order if one item is still being prepared?
Each item in an order is marked ready individually. You can deliver already-finished items using the item-level Deliver button, while remaining items continue to be prepared. The Deliver All button closes the entire order at once.
How does bar revenue appear in the shift financial report?
When closing a shift, IZI generates a revenue breakdown by channel: gaming sessions and bar are shown as separate lines. This lets you see the bar's real contribution to total revenue without manual calculations. If the club has multiple bar zones, each is broken out separately.
Can bonus-point payments be restricted for bar orders?
Yes. The maximum percentage of a payment that can be covered by bonus points is configurable at the tariff level or specifically for bar items. Set it to 0% to require real money only; set a higher limit to run promotions where customers earn and spend bonuses on snacks.
How do you see average order prep time for a shift?
The order history table includes columns for wait time and prep time for each order. These are calculated automatically from the kanban transition timestamps. Comparing data across shifts shows speed degradation and informs staffing or workflow decisions.
What happens to an order if the player leaves before it is ready?
The order stays in the system with its current status. An admin manually closes or cancels it with a comment. If cancelled, a balance refund is possible depending on the club's policy configured in IZI.
