Sessions Overview
Sessions Overview
Section titled “Sessions Overview”A session in IZI is the unit of time a player spends at a gaming PC. It starts when staff (or the player) activates a tariff on a device, and ends when the tariff time runs out or the session is closed manually.
Session lifecycle
Section titled “Session lifecycle”Tariff activated → Session starts → Timer runs → Session ends ↓ (natural expiry / manual end / app)1. Start — a tariff is selected for a device in the Hall view (or by the player via kiosk/app). IZI Boot receives the command, locks the PC, and starts the timer.
2. Running — the player uses the PC. The timer counts down. The Hall view shows remaining time in real time.
3. Warning — when a configurable amount of time remains (e.g. 5 or 10 minutes), the PC screen can show a warning to the player.
4. End — the timer hits zero, or staff manually end the session. IZI Boot receives the end command, locks the PC back to screensaver. The session record is written to history.
What gets recorded
Section titled “What gets recorded”Each completed session logs:
- Device and zone
- Player account (or guest if no account)
- Tariff used
- Start and end time, total duration
- Revenue amount
This data feeds the revenue report and client history.
Session states in the Hall view
Section titled “Session states in the Hall view”| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Free | No active session, available for booking |
| Active | Session running, timer counting down |
| Ending soon | Under the warning threshold |
| On hold | Blocked by staff, not available for booking |
| Offline | PC not responding |
Manual session management
Section titled “Manual session management”From the Hall view, staff can:
- Start a session — select a tariff, confirm
- Extend a session — add time to the running timer
- Transfer a session — move to a different device
- End a session — close it before natural expiry (refund policy applies)
- Pause a session — temporarily stop the timer (if enabled)
All of these are covered in Hall real-time overview.

Section titled “See also”Frequently asked questions
Can a player have multiple active sessions at the same time?
No. One player account can have one active session per device at a time. If the same player tries to start on a second device, the system will prompt to confirm or decline.
What ends a session?
Four things can end a session: the tariff time runs out naturally, staff end it manually from the Hall view, the player ends it from the mobile app (if that's enabled), or the PC goes offline for an extended period.
Is unused time lost when a session ends early?
Depends on the tariff's refund policy. It can keep the balance for later use, convert unused time to bonus, or cancel it. See: Tariff refund policy.
Can a session be transferred to another PC?
Yes. From the Hall view, use Transfer session to move an active session to a different device. The timer continues from where it left off.
