Screensavers on Gaming PCs: Setup via IZI CRM

Published: · IZI Team

Screensavers in IZI are the content that shows on gaming PCs in idle mode: when the PC is free and there is no active session. Configure them once in the CRM — IZI Boot delivers the content to every computer automatically.

Where to open: left panel → SettingsScreensavers

An idle PC with a black screen or a default OS screensaver is a missed opportunity. A screensaver with the club logo, current promotions or tournament schedule:

  • Reminds clients while they choose a seat.
  • Promotes rates and offers without admin involvement.
  • Creates a consistent visual style across the hall.

IZI supports:

  • Images: JPG, PNG. Recommended resolution — 1920×1080 (Full HD), matching most club monitors.
  • Video: MP4 with H.264 codec. Video screensavers attract more attention but require more bandwidth during sync.

Keep file sizes reasonable: large video files take longer to sync to PCs over the club network.

  1. In the Screensavers section click Add or Upload File.
  2. Select a file from your computer (JPG, PNG or MP4).
  3. Give the media file a clear name — e.g. “May 2026 Promotion” or “Standard Logo”.
  4. Save. The file appears in the screensaver library.

The library stores all uploaded files. The same file can be used in multiple screensavers or zones.

Timeout is the duration of mouse and keyboard inactivity after which the PC enters screensaver mode. Set in minutes.

Recommendations:

  • 1–3 minutes — aggressive mode: screensaver activates quickly. Good for busy clubs where a free PC should be visually “marked” fast.
  • 5–10 minutes — moderate mode: the client can take a short break (step out for a moment) without triggering the screensaver.

Timeout is set globally for the club or separately for each zone.

Each screensaver can have a configurable active time slot. This enables automatic content rotation by time of day:

  • Daytime content (10:00–18:00): promotion announcements, rate information.
  • Evening content (18:00–00:00): tournament announcements, night rates.
  • Night content (00:00–10:00): minimal logo, quiet mode.

To configure a schedule:

  1. Select a screensaver in the list.
  2. In the Schedule field specify the start and end time of activity.
  3. Save.

IZI automatically switches the active screensaver per schedule without rebooting PCs.

Different club zones can show different content:

  • VIP zone — branded screensaver with logo and premium promotions.
  • Tournament zone — tournament announcements and rankings.
  • Standard zone — general promotional content.

To assign a screensaver to a zone:

  1. Open the relevant screensaver.
  2. In the Zones field select one or more zones.
  3. Save.

If no zone is specified — the screensaver applies to all club zones.

IZI Boot — the agent on each PC — periodically syncs with the IZI server and receives current screensaver content. After saving changes in the CRM:

  1. On the next sync, IZI Boot downloads the updated files.
  2. The screensaver automatically updates on all zone PCs.
  3. You don’t need to physically visit each machine.

Make sure all PCs are online and the agent is running — check in the Devices section.

Frequently asked questions

Where are screensavers configured in IZI CRM?

Left panel → Settings → Screensavers tab. Media files are uploaded there, schedule and zone assignment are configured.

What file formats are supported for screensavers?

Images: JPG, PNG. Video: MP4 (H.264 recommended). Animated GIFs may be supported depending on the IZI Boot version on the PC.

Does the screensaver show only on idle PCs or also during a session?

The screensaver activates on PCs in 'free' status (no active session). During a session the screensaver does not run — the client controls the screen.

Can different screensavers be set for the VIP zone and standard zone?

Yes. Screensavers can be assigned to specific club zones. VIP zone with branded content, standard zone with promotional content.

How do you set a schedule — for example different content at night vs daytime?

Each screensaver has a configurable active time slot. Create two screensavers with different slots: one active from 10:00 to 22:00, another from 22:00 to 10:00.

After how many minutes of inactivity does the screensaver activate?

The idle timeout is set in screensaver settings. A value of 1–5 minutes is usually enough for the screensaver to activate quickly after a client leaves.

Does a screensaver update apply to all PCs at once or must it be done per machine?

IZI Boot receives updated content automatically on the next sync. You don't need to visit each PC — the change is applied centrally through the CRM.
