VAT and Tax Handling

Published: · Updated: (12 days ago)· IZI Team

IZI passes your club’s tax regime to the connected fiscal register on every payment. The setup is a one-time configuration: choose the correct tax system in the club settings and every receipt generated afterwards will carry the right VAT flag automatically.

IZI records all revenue transactions but does not calculate, file, or remit taxes on your behalf — that remains the responsibility of the club owner or their accountant.

Club Settings → Cash Register → Tax system field.

Tax systemWhen to apply
General (OSN)Standard tax system, VAT 20% included
Simplified — revenue (USN 6%)No VAT on receipts
Simplified — revenue minus expenses (USN 15%)No VAT on receipts
Unified agricultural tax (ESHN)Special agricultural regime
Patent system (PSN)No VAT on receipts
Automated simplified (AUSN)No VAT on receipts

Not sure which applies to your club? Ask your accountant. IZI simply passes the selected value to the fiscal register — it does not validate it against your legal entity registration.

On each payment, IZI constructs the receipt data and sends it to the connected fiscal register. The payload includes:

  • The VAT rate for each line item
  • A “VAT not applicable” flag when the club is on a VAT-exempt regime

The printed receipt and the electronic copy transmitted to the tax operator both display the tax information as a separate line for each product or service.

If your club operates under the general system:

  • Tariff prices entered in IZI are treated as VAT-inclusive amounts
  • Each receipt breaks out the VAT component using the 20/120 fraction of the total
  • For accounting purposes, maintain separate VAT records and file a VAT return each quarter
  • Reclaim input VAT against invoices received from your suppliers

Simplified, patent, and automated simplified systems

Section titled “Simplified, patent, and automated simplified systems”

Your club does not charge VAT. All receipts show “VAT not applicable”. The tariff price in IZI equals the full amount customers pay — no tax is broken out.

For profit and loss reporting, revenue equals the total of receipts with no VAT adjustment needed.

If your club switches from one regime to another — for example from simplified to general — update the setting in IZI before the first payment of the new period. Receipts cannot be retroactively reissued with a corrected rate; doing so would be a compliance violation.

A regime change typically also requires re-registering the fiscal register with the tax authority. Coordinate with your accountant before making the switch.

If your club is located outside Russia or is otherwise not legally required to use certified cash register equipment, the tax system field in the Cash Register section is optional. IZI operates fully without a connected fiscal register.

Internal financial tracking — shift cash flow, Z-reports, transaction log — works regardless of whether a fiscal register is connected. You can still export transactions for your accountant at the end of any reporting period.

  1. At the end of each tax period, export transactions from Transactions → Export CSV
  2. Export the revenue breakdown from Analytics → Revenue → Export
  3. If you use the warehouse module, export the cost-of-goods data for the same period

The export contains transaction date, type, amount, and payment method — sufficient detail for standard tax reporting.

Frequently asked questions

Where in IZI do I set the tax regime?

Go to Club Settings → Cash Register. Pick the applicable tax system from the dropdown — IZI will pass it to the fiscal register on every receipt.

What happens if I enter the wrong tax regime?

Receipts will be generated with an incorrect tax rate. This can trigger fines during a tax authority audit. Confirm the correct regime with your accountant and verify the setting before you go live.

My club is on a simplified tax system — do I need to configure VAT in IZI?

No. Select your simplified regime in settings and IZI will automatically mark all receipts as 'VAT not applicable'. No additional configuration is needed.

Can I assign different VAT rates to different tariffs?

In the current version of IZI the tax regime is configured at the club level, not per tariff. If your club has mixed rates across different activity types, contact IZI support.
