How to Add a Device to Your Gaming Club in IZI

Section titled “How to Add a Device to Your Gaming Club in IZI”

Before you can open a session or take payment on a specific PC or console, the device must be registered in IZI. Go to CRM → Devices and click Add Device. For gaming PCs the flow is three steps: download the installer, run it on the machine, and enter the authorization code — the PC then appears in the list and is ready to use. For equipment that does not run the agent (PlayStation, Xbox, VR headset, simulator) choose the Custom type, give it a numeric name (digits only, up to 4 characters), optionally assign it to a zone, and save — it shows up in the cashier interface immediately. You need the DEVICE_CREATE permission in club access settings to perform any of these steps.

TypeWhen to useRequires agent
PCA gaming computer running WindowsYes
CustomPlayStation, Xbox, VR, simulator, or any device without a Windows clientNo

Open CRM → Devices, click Add Device, and select the PC tab. The CRM provides a download link for the current IZIInstaller.exe. Click Download IZI installer and transfer the file to the target machine (USB drive, shared folder, or remote file copy).

Run IZIInstaller.exe with administrator rights. Supported operating systems:

  • Windows 10 Pro (x64)
  • Windows 10 Enterprise (x64)
  • Windows 11 Pro (x64)
  • Windows 11 Enterprise (x64)

During installation the agent will prompt you to enter an authorization code — keep the setup wizard open.

Step 3 — Authorize the device with a code

Section titled “Step 3 — Authorize the device with a code”

Return to the CRM. In the Add Device dialog click Generate code. The system produces a six-digit code in 000-000 format. The code is valid for 4 hours and is reusable: multiple agents can register using the same code within that window, each appearing as a separate device.

Enter the code in the agent’s setup wizard on the PC. The agent sends it to IZI, and the device appears in the CRM device list as active. If the TTL has expired, click Regenerate to get a fresh code.

After successful pairing, the PC automatically receives a unique UUID and a name. You can set or rename the device immediately or later in the device editor.

Select the Custom tab in the Add Device dialog.

Fill in the fields:

  • Device name — digits only, up to 4 characters (for example: 5, 21, 305). The name must be unique within the club, including archived devices. Attempting to save a duplicate triggers a validation error.
  • Zone — optional. Assigns the device to a specific club zone such as a VIP area, simulator room, or console corner.

Click Save — the device appears in the main list immediately and is available for opening sessions.

Click the pencil icon next to any device in the list to open the editor. Available fields:

FieldDescription
Device nameDigits only, max 4 characters
ZoneAssign the device to a club zone
Auto-update clientThe agent updates automatically when a new version is released
Wake-on-LANRemotely power on the PC over the network via MeshCentral

For POD devices (dedicated IZI hardware boxes), the editor also includes address and map coordinates fields.

A device cannot be deleted while it has an active or scheduled session. Instead, use archiving: the device is hidden from the working list but the record is preserved in the system. To restore it, switch to Archive mode using the toggle in the top-right corner of the Devices page, find the device, and click Restore.

You need the appropriate club permissions to manage devices:

PermissionAction
DEVICE_CREATEAdd a new device
DEVICE_EDITEdit name, zone, and settings
DEVICE_DELETEArchive a device
DEVICE_RESTORERestore from archive
DEVICE_PAIRING_CODE_CREATEGenerate an authorization code to register a PC

If the Add Device button is grayed out, ask your administrator to grant the necessary permissions.

I entered the code, but the PC did not appear in the CRM. Check that the code has not expired (4-hour TTL) and that it is entered in 000-000 format. Confirm the agent is installed on a supported OS. Generate a new code and try again.

I need to add 20 PCs — is there a bulk import? There is no bulk import: each device is registered individually. However, one authorization code works for all machines during the 4-hour window — you can walk from PC to PC entering the same code while it remains active.

What is the difference between UUID and device name? The UUID is a globally unique technical identifier assigned automatically by the agent. The device name is a short numeric label displayed in the cashier interface and device lists — typically the seat number on the floor.

For more on structuring your device fleet, see the Devices section overview. For a detailed walkthrough of agent installation, see the IZI PC installation guide.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the authorization code valid?

The code is valid for 4 hours from the moment it is generated. If no device connects within that window, generate a new code — the old one is invalidated automatically.

Can one code be used for multiple PCs?

Yes. The code is reusable within its 4-hour TTL — each agent that enters it registers as a separate device under the same club.

What is the allowed format for a device name?

Digits only, up to 4 characters (for example: 1, 42, 101, 2048). The name must be unique across all devices in the club, including archived ones.

What is the Custom device type and when should I use it?

Custom covers any device that does not run the IZI agent: PlayStation, Xbox, VR headset, racing simulator. No installer is needed — you create the record manually in the CRM with a name and an optional zone.

The agent is installed but the PC does not appear in the CRM. What do I do?

Check that the code has not expired (4-hour TTL) and is entered in the correct 000-000 format. Verify that the agent is installed on a supported OS. Generate a new code and try again.

Can I change the zone or device name after adding it?

Yes. In the device list, click the pencil icon next to the device to open the editor, where you can update the Device Name and Zone fields.

Which operating systems does the IZI agent support?

Windows 10 Pro (x64), Windows 10 Enterprise (x64), Windows 11 Pro (x64), Windows 11 Enterprise (x64).

What is Wake-on-LAN in device settings?

Wake-on-LAN (WOL) lets you remotely power on a PC over the network via MeshCentral. You can enable it in the device editor after adding the device, provided the network card and BIOS support WOL.

How do I remove or archive a device?

Use the archive button in the device list. An archived device is hidden from the active list and becomes unavailable for new sessions, but the record is preserved. You can restore it at any time from the Archive view.

Do I need to add each PC individually?

Yes, every physical device is registered separately. For PCs the process is semi-automatic: the agent prompts for the code during installation. For custom devices, you create the record manually in the CRM.
