Compare Periods Toggle in IZI CRM Analytics
Compare Periods Toggle in IZI CRM Analytics
Section titled “Compare Periods Toggle in IZI CRM Analytics”The “compare periods” toggle overlays data from two ranges on one chart — you see immediately how a metric has changed compared to last week or last month.
What It Is and Why It Matters
Section titled “What It Is and Why It Matters”Looking at a revenue number in isolation tells you little. “Revenue grew 15% compared to last week” — that’s actionable information. The comparison toggle provides the second context without creating two separate reports.
KPI cards show the delta in % next to the figure. Charts show two lines on the same time axis.
Where It Appears
Section titled “Where It Appears”- Analytics → Overview — main dashboard, KPI cards with deltas, daily revenue chart
- Analytics → Clients — comparing new client counts, retention
- Analytics → Top-Up Bonuses — comparing issued bonus volumes
- Individual widgets in analytics sections may have their own toggle
How to Use It
Section titled “How to Use It”- In the Analytics section set the main period via the date picker — for example, “This week”
- Find the “Compare with…” or “Comparison” toggle next to the dates — click it
- Select the comparison period: “Previous period” (automatically the previous week), “Last year”, or set a custom range
- Charts update — a second line or second set of bars appears. KPI cards show an ↑ or ↓ arrow and percentage change
- Hover over a chart point — the tooltip shows values for both periods at that date
- To disable — click “No comparison” or click the toggle again
Business Value
Section titled “Business Value”Week-over-week comparison is the fastest way to understand if there’s a trend or just random noise. If revenue dropped 20% compared to last week — that’s reason enough to look at what happened on specific days.
Month-over-month comparison is useful for seasonal analysis: December vs November will always differ, but this December vs last December is a fair comparison.
Use comparison before launching a new promotion or changing a tariff: lock in the baseline, compare after a week. If there’s growth — the promotion works. If not — reconsider.
Related Patterns
Section titled “Related Patterns”- Date Picker — main period is set there
- Table Filters — additional segmentation within the comparison
- CSV/Excel Export — for deeper comparison, export both periods as separate files
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- Comparison is not available in tabular sections (transactions, clients) — only in Analytics sections with charts
- You cannot compare more than two periods simultaneously
- Comparing periods of different lengths (e.g. 7 days vs 30 days) produces incomparable numbers — use equal-length ranges
- The % delta doesn’t show when the base period value is zero (division by zero)
Frequently asked questions
The comparison shows the same numbers — is that normal?
If you just turned on comparison and haven't changed the period — both ranges may look similar. Make sure the main period and comparison period don't overlap. Usually the system automatically picks the previous equivalent period.
How do I compare this month to the same month last year?
Set the main period to the current month. In comparison settings choose 'Same period last year' if that preset exists, or manually set the same month last year via custom date selection.
Which line on the chart is which period?
Current period — solid bright line. Comparison period — dashed or lighter line. The legend below the chart shows the color and dates for each line.
Does the comparison toggle affect all widgets on the page or just one?
Usually the toggle in the Analytics header applies to all widgets on the page simultaneously. Individual widgets with their own toggle are the exception.
How do I turn off comparison and return to a single period?
Click the toggle again or select 'No comparison' in the nearby dropdown. Charts return to a single line.
