Zone Pricing

Published: · Updated: (12 days ago)· IZI Team

Zone pricing lets you charge different amounts for the same tariff depending on which part of the hall the player is sitting in — without creating multiple tariffs. One tariff configuration, one catalogue entry, multiple prices: Standard at the base rate, Pro at a mid-tier rate, VIP at a premium. The setting lives in the Prices by Zone block inside the tariff card (Usage Policy section). If a zone has no price, the tariff is simply not available for sale on devices in that zone — no separate toggle needed.

A common starting point: Standard is the base price, Pro is 20–30% above it, VIP is 40–60% above Standard. These are parametric benchmarks — set what reflects the hardware difference and demand in your club.

  • Zones already created in your club — see Zone setup for VIP, Pro, Standard or custom names
  • At least one tariff in the Tariffs section — see Creating a tariff
  • A role with access to tariff settings (Owner or Administrator with the “Club settings” permission)

Go to Tariffs and select the tariff you want to configure. Click the pencil icon to the right of its name to open the editor.

Inside the tariff card, locate the Usage Policy block. Within it, find the Prices by Zone row — this is where zone-specific prices are set.

If no zones have been created yet, the system will show a “Zones not configured” message. Set up your zones first, then return to this step.

A separate price field appears for each active zone in your club. Fill in the zones where the tariff should be available; leave the others blank.

VIPBase × 1.4–1.6280–320

The numbers in the table are parametric benchmarks. Set prices that match the hardware difference and demand in your club.

If a tariff should not be sold in a zone at all — for example, a night tariff that is off-limits in VIP — leave that zone’s field empty. The tariff will simply not appear at the cashier for devices in that zone.

Click Save. Changes take effect immediately: the next sale of this tariff will use the new zone prices. Active sessions that are already running are not recalculated.

Switch to the hall view in Shift. Click on a PC in each zone and confirm that the tariff’s sale menu shows the correct price per zone. This is faster than waiting for a real sale to verify.

For a deeper check, compare ARPU by zone through Comparing ARPU by zone: if the markup is working, VIP-ARPU should be proportionally higher than Standard-ARPU.

Zone pricing and time-based scheduling work independently and can be combined. A single tariff can have different prices per zone and a schedule restricting its availability to specific hours. If you need different sales schedules per zone — for example, VIP only available on weekends — that requires a separate tariff rather than zone pricing alone.

  • To remove a tariff from a specific zone entirely — clear its price field, do not delete the tariff
  • For zone-specific sales schedules, create a separate tariff: Tariff schedules
  • For discounts on VIP for specific player groups (students, regulars) — configure those through Tariff configuration

Frequently asked questions

Do I need separate tariffs for Standard and VIP pricing?

No. One tariff handles all zones. Set a price for each zone in the Prices by Zone block. A separate VIP tariff only makes sense if you want a different sales schedule or expiry policy — not just a different price.

What happens if I leave a zone without a price?

The tariff becomes unavailable for sale on devices in that zone — it simply will not appear at the cashier. This is useful, for example, for a night tariff that should not be sold in VIP: leave the VIP price field empty.

Can I set a price only for VIP and leave Standard blank?

Yes. The tariff will only be available in the VIP zone. This is useful for exclusive VIP packages that should not be accessible on standard PCs.

How do I decide what markup to set for VIP?

A practical benchmark: 30–60% above Standard is psychologically comfortable for most clubs, but your market may differ — factor in the hardware difference and actual demand. Compare ARPU by zone: if VIP-ARPU is already noticeably higher, the markup is working; if not, check whether the right tariffs are available in VIP.

How do I change a zone price without touching the schedule or other settings?

Open the tariff card, go to the Prices by Zone block (Usage Policy section), edit the relevant field, and save. The schedule, expiry policy, and refund policy are not affected.

Do active sessions get repriced when I save new zone prices?

No. Changes apply to new sales only. Sessions that are already running keep the price they were started at.
