Update and Install Games on Club PCs
To install or update games on a club PC, you need to disable disk protection first — otherwise every change is wiped on the next reboot. Before touching protection, place the machine in hold mode so no player can book it while you work. The full flow takes under five minutes of admin time; the actual game download runs unattended.
Step 1 — Put the PC on hold
Section titled “Step 1 — Put the PC on hold”In the Hall section, find the target device and click the three-dot menu → Create hold. Enter a reason and an end time, then click Create hold.
The machine is now locked from bookings and sessions.
Step 2 — Disable disk protection
Section titled “Step 2 — Disable disk protection”With the PC still in hold mode, open the three-dot menu again → Disable disk protection. Confirm the prompt. IZI triggers a reboot; when the machine comes back up the shield icon turns red.
Step 3 — Install or update games
Section titled “Step 3 — Install or update games”Now that changes persist on disk, connect to the PC (physically or via remote desktop) and install or update games through Steam, Epic Games, or any other launcher as you normally would.
Step 4 — Re-enable disk protection
Section titled “Step 4 — Re-enable disk protection”Once downloads and updates are complete, open the three-dot menu → Enable disk protection. Confirm. The PC reboots and the shield icon turns green.
Step 5 — Release hold
Section titled “Step 5 — Release hold”Open the three-dot menu → Remove hold. The machine is immediately available for bookings again.
Result: games are installed, disk protection is active, and the PC is back in service.

Why do I need to put the PC on hold before disabling disk protection?
Hold mode prevents any player from booking or starting a session on the machine while you work. Without hold, the disk-protection command is ignored by IZI.
What happens to the disk after I disable protection?
All changes written to the disk — new game files, updates, launcher configs — are kept permanently until you re-enable protection.
Can I disable disk protection while a player session is active?
No. End the active session first, then put the PC on hold, then disable disk protection.
Does the PC reboot automatically when I toggle disk protection?
Yes. IZI triggers a reboot each time you enable or disable disk protection. Wait for the machine to come back up before proceeding.
How do I know disk protection is off?
The shield icon next to the device in the Hall section turns red when protection is disabled and green when it is active.
Can I install games from any launcher?
Yes — Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, or any other launcher. Once disk protection is off, the OS behaves like a standard Windows install.
