How to Open a Shift in IZI Gaming Club CRM
How to Open a Shift in IZI Gaming Club CRM
Section titled “How to Open a Shift in IZI Gaming Club CRM”A shift is the bounded working period during which an admin operates the cash register — from the first transaction of the day to the moment the register is closed and reconciled. In IZI CRM, every financial event (balance top-up, paid session, bar order, discount) is stamped with the active shift, giving management a clean audit trail for each working period.
Until a shift is open, the register is fully locked. No admin can top up a customer’s balance, start a paid session, or ring up a bar sale. This design is intentional: it prevents untracked cash movements and ensures every rouble or dirham handled during a workday is attributed to a named employee and a specific time window. The shift record becomes the foundation for the X-report at mid-shift and the Z-report at close, both of which feed into revenue reconciliation and daily accounting.
For club owners and managers, accurate shift data means you can see exactly who handled cash, when the register was opened, what the opening float was, and how much was collected by end of shift. Discrepancies between the opening balance and the closing total surface immediately — so cash shortages or overages are caught the same day, not during a monthly audit.
Opening a shift in IZI takes 2–3 minutes. The process involves logging in, navigating to the Shifts section, entering the physical cash count as the opening balance, and confirming. The steps below walk you through each one.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- An account with the Cashier role or higher.
- Cash counted and ready for the opening balance.
- Receipt printer in working order (optional — only if you print receipts).
1. Log in to CRM and select your club
Section titled “1. Log in to CRM and select your club”Open IZI CRM and sign in with your account. Select the club from the list — if you have access to only one, it opens automatically.
2. Go to Shifts
Section titled “2. Go to Shifts”In the sidebar menu, select Shifts. If no shift is open yet, you will see the shift-opening screen with the relevant button.
3. Click “Open shift”
Section titled “3. Click “Open shift””A form appears with a single field: Opening balance — the amount of cash you are placing in the drawer at the start of the shift.
Count your notes and coins, then enter the total. This is not revenue — it is working float for giving change.
4. Confirm
Section titled “4. Confirm”Click Open. IZI records the exact start time and links the shift to your account.
From this point the register is active: you can top up balances, start paid sessions, and accept bar payments.
5. Check equipment before the first customer
Section titled “5. Check equipment before the first customer”Before anyone walks in:
- Print a test receipt to confirm the printer is working and has paper.
- Open the Hall tab and verify all PCs are showing correctly.
- Test that the cash drawer opens on a sample operation.
It is much easier to resolve a hardware issue now than mid-queue.
What comes next
Section titled “What comes next”Once the shift is open you are in standard operating mode: top up balances, start sessions, take bar orders.
At the end of the shift:
- Close shift and Z-report — required before leaving.
- Cash collection — if cash in the drawer has exceeded the working limit.
- Shift handover protocol — what to pass to the next admin.
Frequently asked questions
Can I accept customers before opening a shift in IZI?
No. While a shift is closed, the cash register is locked: you cannot top up a balance, start a session, or accept any payment. Opening a shift is the mandatory first step before any cash operation.
What if someone else already opened a shift before me?
Check in CRM who opened the shift — the Shifts section shows the staff member's name. If it was another admin, there is one active shift per club, so just work within it. If the shift was opened by mistake, close it in the Shifts section and reopen it.
Do I need to enter the opening balance every shift?
Yes. The opening balance is the cash physically in the drawer at the start of the shift. IZI uses it as the baseline for the X-report. Without the correct figure, the X-report will show an incorrect cash total.
What if I opened a shift with the wrong opening balance?
Close the shift and reopen it with the correct amount before any transactions have taken place. If transactions have already occurred, correct the discrepancy via a manual entry in the shift handover log and notify the club owner.
